This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

That is something I've wondered as well. While it might be incest, I also found myself wondering if perhaps they killed their parents (intentionally or otherwise).

Ending theme lyrics.
If everything was constructed
Then why do we struggle?
It wasn’t you
It’s not your fault
I’ve already had enough of sorrow
So that’s not how it is
Not how it is now
I can’t tell it to you very well, but–
Now is the FUTURE
DEAR FUTURE
So mysterious. It's begging to be analyzed!

I thought the same thing! Every time the camera panned over the picture of their parents, with the two brothers looking at the photo in an eerily ambiguous way.. I thought I was just overanalyzing, as I've done with everything since Utena, but then again this is Ikuhara so nothing is far-fetched.. Still, if they were somehow responsible for their parents' death, they might not resent their "punishment" as much. Who knows though..
And I agree, he does seem fatalistic.

I don't know if this has been covered, but what is the anime actually about? Without giving too many spoilers for the sake of others, can I have a basic rundown?

As far as I can tell, it seems to be about a penguin queen who is giving two brothers, Shoma and Kanba, tasks to keep their sister, Himari, alive.

Got a chance to watch it. Looks very interesting.

I'm starting to watch the second episode. I'm not even a minute in but I'm already loving how the school girl [Ringo] is a foil to Kanba.
ETA: OH MY THE STALKING. AND THE MOOD WHIPLASH. And none of these characters actually know how to tail someone.

I keep on seeing stars, especially when fate is mentioned. I have a feeling fate will be a recurring theme in this anime.
Spoiler underneath, highlight it if you've already seen the second episode.
Oh man, just as I was about to have a HNNNG attack from how adorable Ringo was being suddenly she's a stalker? I did not see that coming. Although, it's quite refreshing to already be having a twist (even if it is a mild one) so early in the series. I think I'm really starting to love it!
Personally, I think the Penguin Drum is most likely to be that diary she was holding that can apparently tell the future. There also seemed to be drawings of Penguin One and Two in it, could it be that Ringo really can see them, or is at least aware of their existences?

Yasha and I now love this show.
I want to hate it. I do. But I can't. I HATE YOU IKUHARA WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO US

Not sure how I feel about the second episode. One the one hand, DAMN did I not expect that ending, but on the other hand, except for the first and last few minutes of the episode, nothing really happens. It's just the brothers' wacky hijinks. Now in my head Kanba is Touga and Sho is Miki after the scene on the subway, which did make the ensuing shenanigans a bit funnier, but I want to get into the mystery, and this was essentially filler. I just hope Ikuhara's getting it all out of his system now; with only 24 episodes I was expecting tighter pacing overall (especially considering the first episode's)
Also, if Sho doesn't cross-dress eventually, I will be dissapoint.
P.S: anyone else notice Kanba's chuchu ringtone? I squeed.

I dont think it was kanbas phone... and it didnt sound much like chu chu, it was more like kyu kyu. On the other hand when both brothers said: "for himari's sake" at the same time, that really reminded me of utena :p

This is one crack-tastic show. Penguins with stealth cams, can't beat that. Love the constant movement of the show, there's always motion going on.

I want episode three so bad, it felt like the first two went so quickly, impeccable pacing, and GOD THOSE PENGUINS MAKE ME LAUGH. Also I the Tokyo Sky Metro girls

The "Double H Musume" are most definitely the "Shadow Girls" of 2011

They already showed she can't see them when they looked at her stuff on her desk. But agree about the diary. It's kinda like a death note except you can't see the penguins, nor kill people. So kinda like death note, but competely different. Following?
Highlight above.
Watched it. Not hooked. Interesting to see where it goes. I definitely like the 3 siblings, but Ringo... I'm not a fan of her character design. I'm shallow like that. I do like it, despite how blasé I sound.
And yes! Another transformation show! The more colourful and pointless the better! And she so did a Sailor Moon pose. Squee!

Does anyone know what time/day this anime is shown in Japan?
I just finished watching the first two episodes; interesting. I can't wait to see the deeper meaning of this shown once it progresses.

As far as I can tell it airs Thursdays. Not sure when!
I was skeptical at first but I gotta admit, I'm hooked now.

Hey, Gio, why don't you put up news about Pingdrum on the top of the forums?
It doesn't look like veryone here is properly aware of this series.

Stalking happened, and then I fell in love. Also, that opening and ending are boss.
