Because SKU can only decently crossover with other storylines where the villains are similarly sexy. None of the villains in LoTR are sexy.

I've been waiting for the movie for SO FREAKIN' LONG.
I used to be on the AnineOnDVD forums, and that was how I first heard about this. However, I haven't been on in a couple years, and so I'm not sure whether the project will truly come to fruition. I hope it will, considering that the dub is done.
And I think the dub voices are pretty decent. Better than the official dub, anyway. OH SNAP
