This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

What Genre are the Dueling themes?

(I think this is where this should be posted?) I'm sorry, I know its a stupid question.

Mainly songs like Tenshi Souzou Sunawachi Hikari, Fugingekiron Gattaijutsu, and Tainai Tokei Toshi Oruroi.

Re: What Genre are the Dueling themes?

He's kind of hard to label, but Japanese Wikipedia lists two of his genres as "experimental music" and "progressive rock," which sound about right. Maybe "choral prog rock" or something?

Thanks! I wanted to look for music similar to Utenas soundtrack, but didn't know where to start.

Re: What Genre are the Dueling themes?

It reminded me of the more experimental stuff by the Velvet Underground. Have a listen to "Venus in Furs".
