Re: Reasons for being happy

Feeling weird and dumb and out of time, I went shopping for my last couple days before I fly back to the States and saw these

http://s10.postimg.org/4nvl2zoid/had_to_buy.jpg

and had to buy them.

I am a child and I feel so much happier now.

Re: Reasons for being happy

Those are frikkin adorable and I would have bought them myself tbh.

I am quite happy. Watched the new Star Wars movie (man but Harrison Ford still HAS GOT IT), bought some glittery earrings, and also purchased this album which is basically rock and atmospheric renditions of the best music from Undertale. I HIGHLY recommend it if you like Undertale music - you can check out his stuff on youtube for free as well.

I am ready to go back to work. Christmas Break has been great.

Akio, you have nice turns of phrase, but your points aren't clear and you have no textual support. I can't give this a passing grade.

Re: Reasons for being happy

A story that I wrote got semifinal status in a horror writing contest/ Creepypasta Cookoff I entered! Even though it got officially uploaded a few days ago, I'm just so happy that something I created is considered pretty good!
It's right here if you want to read it.

I saw! And I read some of the essays this morning, and they're so good. The page setup has a little glitch, with the header boarder pushing over the intro text for a few of the subpages, but other than that, it looks great!

It seems to have hit the pages where the analysis is from what I see. The essay pages themselves don't seem to been hit though.

Just so you know, I'm using Safari, and this is how one of the headers looks from my end.

I'm an organ donor too!

Are you from Edmonton? emot-biggrinemot-biggrin

PS. Congrats on being a donor! My unit runs a donor bed and it's a crazy process you can't possibly grasp the complexity of. I've been there a year and I'm considered far too junior to take a donor as of yet, but I'm getting there. As someone that's been part of the process....MAKE SURE YOUR FAMILY KNOWS AND SUPPORTS YOUR CHOICE. Seriously. This isn't how it should work, but it is: you could have DONOR tattooed on your chest and if a family member vetoes it, we won't do it. Families have an obscene amount of power to make life and death decisions for you, even ones you've tried to make in advance. Make sure the people that would decide these things KNOW WHAT YOU WANT.

PPS. Thanks, sweetie. I didn't even check on Safari. I'll try to fix it soon here. emot-smile

It is nice to be recognized (publicly too) that you are doing a damn good job and are appreciated.

A friend that doesn't use Twitter once described it as a place for people to complain. As someone who uses/used Twitter, that's kind of true. emot-biggrin

I personally used it as a writing platform. Just as you have the format of a book, you could have the format of Twitter, where it's more than just the content, the spacing, the organization, but the timing, the interactivity, the limits of its length. It sounds a bit abstract without trying it for a certain amount of time, but after a while it takes on a life of its own and you kind of get what it has become for you.

I found a volunteer writing position literally less than ten miles from home with the Red Cross. All they'll need to train me in is disaster preparedness. I would write little articles about it.

Re: Reasons for being happy

(( Not as exciting as the Space Exploration topic, but here's one from me.

So... work was doing this "experiment" with new trays, that they labeled with these flourescent-green dot-stickers.  Me, and my frustration with work sometimes, started drawing smiley faces on the dots... mostly to see if one of the supervisors would bring it up during one of our infrequent team meetings.  They didn't.

So... anyway about a month goes by, and now every time I see these goofy smiles in the totes, it makes me smile.  In fact, I've caught myself making a game out it, wondering if I'll get to see a smile-green... or just a green dot.

So... um... yeah.  Me and my sense of amusement. ))

Re: Reasons for being happy

Working on an article so cool, so jam-packed, so intense and crazy and blushing full of love, it may have to be split into two parts and prefaced with an "Are you over 18?" clicky. Like I'm doing a god's work.

I finally have a iron to replace the one that crapped out over a year ago.  etc-love When you use a laundromat for your laundry, an iron and ironing board are a necessity.  Plus ironing is a wonderful stress reliever for me.

Re: Reasons for being happy

To take my mind off the broken WD Passport, I've been watching all the Evil Dead movies, which has been cheering me up serious. Then someone left $40 beer for me at the front desk, as a welcome home!  And, then... it's just a loose screw inside the casing! When I'm braver and under clear light, I can crack that baby open and at least get it running well enough to pull a bunch of stuff off it! Woohoo!
