This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Yep, that's Bleedman's stuff if I'm not mistaken. He's on my watch list on Deviant Art.

And what is up with Buttercup's character desgin???
STFU, dyked-up Buttercup is the best thing about this anime. D<
BLASPHEMY!!!
I dunno, they turned her into a completely typical, run-of-the-mill tomboy. The original Buttercup was special, not totally a tomboy, not a girly-girl either. The anime one is just so been there, done that. There are already a thousand 'OMG NO LAIK DRESSES' tomboys in existence already.

True. I said nothing about her personality. I like her design is all.

My only wish is that all spin-offs could be as good as the Tenchi Muyo! spin-offs over the years have been.
IMO not all of the Tenchi spinoffs were winners. Some ,like Universe (kinda boring) and in Tokyo (I's rather watch grass grow) sucked.
Oops, I meant the Magical Girl Pretty Sammy Tenchi spin-offs. Shin Tenchi Muyo! (a.k.a. Tokyo) kinda sucked big time. Sakuya was wicked annoying, in my opinion. Universe, although far from being my favoritve Tenchi incarnation, had the best final episodes of any anime I've ever seen, honestly. I usually hate recap eps big-time, but the final episode was done so well - I loved the photograph effect.

Speaking of Tenchi, what's the deal with the new series? I haven't watched it, but I've seen screenshots. Allegedly Tokimi, Tsunami, and megami-Washu get more screen time.

What's the deal with the new Tenchi OAV series?
Uh... I don't think I can use that sort of language when we're not on IFD.
Suffice it to say I think it's very, very, very bad.
Or, if that doesn't suffice, you could always go see:
"A Concise, Unbiased Analysis Of Tenchi Muyo OAV 3, or, "Noike Is The Goddamn Antichrist. No, Seriously".

Well, I haven't seen the entire new OVA, but I did like what I saw. Err, except Noike. She bugged me But I LOVED seeing Tenchi's older sister.

Personally, I think Noike wouldn't have been that bad, if she had an ounce more of characterization. She is incredibly bland character. As for her adopted mother, the Devil Princess of Jurai is foreshadowed way too much considering how uninteresting character she proves to be, as well.
My biggest gripe with the new series was almost complete lack of epicness - we got three goddesses and two potentially omnipotent superbeings and they barely do a damn thing before the last episode and then there is no time, whatsoever for any proper explanations. Not to mention that the relationship between Tokimi and Z was left to the barest minimum of exposition. And the whole thing about "female Kagato" just felt cheap and pointless.
They could have gotten so much more out of it, if they had bothered - the animation, itself was excellent.
I wish they'd make a series of Washu's youth with mostly new cast, based on that untranslated novel made of the subject. She's the only worthwhile and interesting character in the entire Techi-continuum. I feel that would actually be great fun to watch...

So do I hate Noike more or less than Sakuya from Tenchi in Tokyo?

Sakuya, to my knowledge, does not have a magical spaceship that's better than other spaceships for the entire plot purpose of taking Tenchi to a hot spring. In her spaceship.
So I vote Sakuya. Who's also cuter.

I dunno, Sakuya was wicked whiny and clingy - that was so annoying. Noike's annoying, but at least she doesn't whine and act like a five year old who has been told they have to share their doll.
