This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

I am really looking forward to this weeks challenge though, WWE? Hmm- How in the HELL does this have to do with fashion?
*is worried*
No shit! But then again, what about figure skating? That challange disn't have much to do with fashion, although it was fun to see the designers in skating outfits. I'm more then a little concerned about this, BUT the judging should be interesting. Can you imagine Nina and Michael faced with all that spandex, glitz and whathaveyou? Hmmm...

Michael will probably say it is too slutty or something. And Nina will blow it off, mumbling "Fuck that shit, do you think I am that low to judge a WWE challenge! HA!"
I still wish they'd get Anna Wintour on there judge I mean after all she is the queen of fashion.
Offline
Pfft. Like she'd do it? Please. It's faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too lowbrow for the likes of Madame Wintour.
Offline
I can wish can't I?
But she is known for going for the young designers. And Micheal Kors owns his entire life to her.

After 2 weeks of withdrawal, we had a new episode last night.
This week's challenge: design a new, tacky outfit for the WWE Divas.
They went and shopped at a place called Spandex House. I'm really surprised Tim didn't run away screaming.

He took it surprisingly well I thought. I figured he just imagined they were drag queens, an environment he's probably far more comfortable in. That said, who else knew Chris was gonna win this one? Like, during the promos, when I saw it was WWE I was all "Chris is gonna win this shit."
I really did like the hoodie portion of his get-up. It was cute. Although I had to leave right around when Sweet P was having a heart attack about her client's lack of taste. Stupid work.

When it came down to it, I knew either Chris or Christian was going to win. I figured Jillian would be in the top 3, but her outfit wasn't as amazing as the other two.
Christian's outfit was really awesome, and it amused me how much he was enjoying the whole thing. You'd think he'd be all pissy about having to a) work with spandex and b) do something costumey. Apparently not.
But OMG, Ricky and Rami! Wrong and Wrong! With Rami we get lingerie, and with Ricky we get a swimsuit....albeit a fierce swimsuit.

OMG, Raven, if you want, I have major spoilers! ONTD, my gossip community, posted all the Bryant Park collections -and HOLY SHIT, They're AMAZING.
Of course I looked, but to be honest, there's no indication AT ALL of who wins -although they do give you a damn good guess as to who the final judge will be. Every collection is just amazing. You know, TIm has been talking about how amazing and so much better the designers are in this season as opposed to all the previous ones, and I've been all "... yeah. right."
Totally finally see it.

I tend to occasionally forget that NY Fashion Week was this week.
I'm really tempted...I mean, really tempted.... But I'll be a good girl and wait.
I am happy to know that these bitches are going to deliver, though. I was ready to declare shenanigans.

Oh, I know. I think the avant guarde challange was the first one that made me go... "okay. finally."
Who's your pick? Or at least, who are you pulling for? I really hate Christian most of the time, but his work is pretty much consistantly in line with what I like to see on runways.
lol, this thread is totally the Raven Nightshade and MissMocha show. With occasional guest host Sevelle.

See, that's my thing. Despite his attitude, or because of it, I actually like Christian. He will always put out good work if left to his own devices. The two times he almost got eliminated were when he teamed up with Carmen, and when he had to make the prom dress for Miss Know-it-All. Both times he let someone else's opinion override his own. He may be one of few people in the universe that shouldn't listen to other people....ever.
But I know Christian's not going to win. The "young ingenue" never wins. Michael didn't win last season and Daniel didn't win the season before. However, I don't think it's going to be his nasty attitude that's going to be his downfall. I mean, look at Jeffrey. He made someone cry, and he still won.
But if Christian doesn't win, I'm thinking it's going to be Rami. I'd pull for Jillian, but she has a history of being a little too ambitious in terms of the scale of her projects. If Sweet P or Chris makes it to the Final Three, I doubt either of them will win.
For now, though, I'm just glad Ricky's gone.
And this is totally the Mocha and Raven Show.

Sorry guys, I was working like Mike Jeffries Bitch this week . . . However I caught Project Runway, as always.
WWE Divas . . . they should have totally done Drag Queens. (Which brought me to think of the Promos and Steven describing his nightmare challenge.) Anyways. This challenge frightened me because, IT WASN'T MEN!!! Heeheehee. That would have been hotter.
Offline
Honey, some of them looked like drag queens anyway.
Besides, they have to save something for next season.
And Chris' client had the best hair I've seen in a while. It reminds me of a wig I borrowed once.

This is true . . .
I want to know who made it, but I don't want to at the same time.
*curses*

That might be her hair with some bonus extensions. Still gorgeous, though.
Random tidbits before I forget:
1. Kayne from Season 3 designed one of the gowns for a Miss America contestant.
2. Vanessa from Season 1 and Chloe from Season 2 have stores within 5 miles of each other in Houston.
3. USA Today and Fashion Wire Daily almost spoiled the finale for me. They don't say who the final three are, but they did tell me that the remaining five contestants all showed at Fashion Week and what their collections looked like. Fashion Wire Daily was MERCILESS! The writer of the article basically called it all "costumey" crap.
At least I know who the guest judge is now.
Offline
I can't agree with that at all. I think Chris, as usual, came out with some costume-y things, but there are a few other pieces that I really think make up for it.
And I'm totally thrilled about the guest judge.

Yu do relise I'm shaking like a cracky before a good stash because I am not looking at the white void . . . lord- I WANT TO!!!

Last Night's Episode:
HOLY CRAP! HOLY CRAP! Roberto Cavalli as the guest judge! It makes me think that Project Runway from the minors TO THE MAJORS!
Anyways, this weeks challenge has to be by far one of the best ever concocted with in the shows history.
*but I have to go I shall report on it later*

OMG, I almost died! If I were Sweet P, I'd have felt like shit. "Oh, we're only sending YOU home this week. We lied."
Based on how last night's episode went, we have our Final Three, but the fourth person is just being strung along for drama's sake. Rami or Chris....Rami or Chris? I vote for Chris....and here's why:
1) I like him. He reminds me of my friends back home, inappropriately loud and all.
2) At least he has variety, even if this week's dress was exactly the damn same as the Avant Garde challenge.
3) If a drag queen will wear it, rest assured I will take an interest in it.
4) Mr. Cavalli used words like "Paris" and "couture" when describing Chris' dress.
But Christian's outfit = epic win. And it tickled me to watch him trying it on.

Double posting!
So the reunion episode was this week, which means we get to see all the embarrassing stuff they cut out.
Ricky managed not to cry...at all. But Carmen did.
Michael Knight, who won Fan Favorite last season, presented this year's check to...the person who won it.
Tim gave an explanation as to why he's not a judge. Then Nina and Michael Kors explained why they're glad he isn't.
And NOBODY thinks Chris is going to win.
Offline
Grrrrr! I missed it! goddamnit!

The best of the Reunion Special was when Michael Kors lost his poker face.
*AHAAAHAAAHAAA*
But I am pumped for the season finale tonight, what will they bring out!? Will either Rami or Chris go to the finals? Personally I love them both, who the fuck cares if Rami drapes a lot! He does stunning work, he just needs to expand and grow like every other designer. Speaking as a student and learning about fashion design, designers usually have a key look that they tend to stick to. (*cough* Chanel and her suits *cough*) And to command you change your look at the drop of a hat is difficult, especially in under twelve hours. (Not to mention Rami's, umm, he's gorges!) As for Chris . . . He's costumey! He's Dramatic! He makes a really good Drag Queen! I really hope he pushes for his Couturier's liscense because I could see him rivaling Galliano at the Paris Shows, Cavalli was right!
Oh and I am looking forward to season five, Jack might be back!

That was my favorite part!
So I'm watching the show as I type this. Here's my impression.
Christian: Where is the wearable part? Is there one? I mean, FEATHER PANTS! But the poor baby has to sleep in such a tiny place. Maybe he can take the $10,000 he won last week and move.
Jillian: I call her the Coatmaster General. She'll make an awesome coat or two and make 8 billiion semi-interesting things to go under it.
Rami: But OMG, at least he's using actual colors...even if his concept is similar to Jillian's. At least it's not all draping. Television Without Pity calls him the "Serial Drapist".
Chris: Mmmm, velvet. But....I think poor Tim just died inside. And his friend's apartment left me speechless. I think I mentioned in some thread somewhere that I Rococo. Can I move in?
OMG, Jillian, take that fugly hat off your head!
And now for the Main Event! (Or in Chris' case, Mane Event)
Rami impressed me. I still like Chris' stuff better....but that's my inner Gothic drag queen talking. I'm a sucker for black and velvet. And I don't think it's costumey at all. Theatrical, yes, but couture usually is. Like Sevelle said, he just needs to move to Paris and become a couturier.

I just felt like necroing this in anticipation of the Season 5 finale. Frankly, I started out underwhelmed last seasons, and progressively became more and more impressed. I have to agree with Tim that the last season of designers -especially on repeated viewing- is truly one of the most amazing and inspired groups of designers that they have. Even Christian, I fell madly in love with, design wise.
That said. THIS SEASON FUCKING SUCKS MAJOR FUCKING ASS.
Raven, did you watch any episodes? I have been, and I've been asking myself why.
Edited because rageful typing is often not good typing.
