This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Does linking to this get me poison cookies?
Anyway, my username is from a They Might Be Giants song, which also contains the lyric "The engagements are booked through the end of the world", so... yeah, it had to be used.

I am female, unmarried...and have a really, really stupid middle name.
COMBO TIME.
'Blue' was going to be my given name, as it happens. Thank god my dad intervened.
Although, come to think of it, 'Amelia Blue Sky' isn't all that much better really ¬_¬. Ta mum.

I've always used Hollow Rose for any Utena fan related stuff. I've used it forever. It comes from the last line in Juri's first duel song: "angel and devil are the two of me/the center is hollow." She's always been my favorite character and somehow that line has always stuck with me as being quintessential to the character. So its an homage to the character without actually using her name or something, so its subtle enough for non-fan usage too. All-purpose.

My handle refers to the internet term Sock Puppet and I created this handle as a mock-up of this concept.
The clues to the identity behind my handle are located here..

It's a mix of a food, a flower and a name I like.

hmm... "phul" is the username I usually resort to when my first choice ("tulipfield") isn't available. However, I also use "phul" on the only other forum I frequent (BollyWHAT), so I decided to keep it for this one so all my forum handles would be the same. "Phul" just means "flower" in Hindi.

Mine is the nickname that everyone calls me. The story goes that I used to call myself Michiru online, back 7th and 8th grade, because it was the closest japanese phonetic equivalent of my real name, Michelle. It immediately got shortened to Michi, and all my real life friends started using it. It's got to the point where the people in the anime club at my old CEGEP don't know my real name.
Anyway, in 9th, maybe 10th grade, I learned that according to the laws of japanese pronounciation, 'Michi' was actually pronounced 'Mi-tchi', so I changed the 'c' for an 's' to be phonetically correct. Thus, Mishi. That way no one gets confused.
On LJ, I'm known as Mishi_Sings, since Mishi was taken and I like to sing.

Heh....that's funny, because in high school, there was a girl who was a year down from me, and I used to call her Michiru (Or Mi-chan) all the time. Her name was Michelle, too.
She used to bake lots too....yum.
You....dont bake, by any chance, do you?

Mine was derived from a song from the SKU movie. I was origionally Belladonna, or Belladonna trap or something...I can't remember. When Yasha and I became friends over a long series of PMs, she took to calling me bella, and it stuck. I liked it so much that I wanted to change it to my username, and now 'bella' has become my official online nickname. It's followed me everywhere and I consider it to represent me as well as my real name (which is Samantha, and I've never liked that name, really. People call me Sam, and that's much more natural.) Sadly, with the whole shitty Twilight fangirl phenomenon, other forums seem to think that's where it came from. To which I go, 'no, my name came from something so much cooler and Edward Cullen is a total stalker guy, thank you.' It's fun.
Basically I consider this forum the place where the me I like best was born. That's cheesy, but it's true.

Well, I've always loved mythology, especially Greek/Roman myths so I choose this name because it reminds of my favorite goddess.
That and my real name is the English version of the Greek/Roman goddess who was her ride or die chic, Nike/Victory.

Funny. There's a game I play in which one of the recoverable items from a crashed ship is an "Alien Reanimation Zone." I shall now giggle and think of it as an "Alien Reanna-mation Zone."

Mine comes from the story my mom told me to explain why I loved space so much. She told me the moon was king of the night sky and my father, and that my interest in it was because I was the prince of the stars, and that because my father loved me so much, he turned me from a star into a human, so that I could be groomed by my mother to rule in the kingdom of the heavens one day. Weird, I know, but it made me feel really special.
