This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Part 13: Prydwen of Archimage is now complete: http://www.broomstick.org/utena/archimage.html!
The epilogue is finished, but not posted; it's still in need of another editing pass. We will post it no later than this weekend. Because once that's posted? Archimage will be complete!
It only took 10 years...

Awesome! It's one of the best Utena fanfics out there; in fact, one of the best fanfics, period, as far as I've been able to determine.
It's great to see seemingly abandoned works finally finished.

That...is fantastic. I don't want to go all fangirl on you, but Archimage is the best Utena fanfic I've read. I am so glad it's going to be finished!
(Now, if only there were new shadow plays too. *looks hopeful*)

Thank you so much! I'm glad it's finished now -- not just to free up that part of my brain for other writing, but because so many people have been so kind and lavish with praise over the years, and we very much wanted to give them the conclusion instead of abandoning it. My wife had to finish her PhD first, though, to give her some brainspace, and I had to get a new job, to give me some brainspace.
As I've said elsewhere, if you like my writing and don't mind dipping into my original fiction, I'm running an online serial called Wonder City Stories, about people living in a world with people who have superpowers (some of whom have powers themselves). It's my answer to comic books, which don't have enough women, queer people, or people of color for my tastes, as well as an homage to Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City, Kurt Busiek's Astro City, and Alison Bechdel's Dykes to Watch Out For. The first story arc is finishing up right now, and I'll probably start writing volume 2 in October or November. http://wonder-city.dreamwidth.org/11340.html
I can't guarantee more shadowplays -- those occur when the Shadow Girls in my wife's head decide to tell a story. They've been pretty quiet lately, alas.
