Re: Mafia - TOWN WINS!

I LOVE reading you guys playing this game, though I would be no good at it if I played. You all did great folks! This is a game of psycology and deduction, and I'm no good at both... if I played, I probably would have died on the very first day.

Re: Mafia - TOWN WINS!

Yeah, it might be more fun to watch than to play. All of the excitement with none of the stress. It also seems like it would be easier to play as a townie than as the mafia, but that might just be my narcissism talking. I'll probably sit out the next round, but I can't wait to watch it!

That's about what I figured. I was sure I was a goner, so I had to decide who I should kill for my last hurrah. Arki/Utena tempted me, just for the Fatal Attraction factor, but then I thought I'd post something on the last day like "Utena, if we just kill Juri, then we can be together!"...in the end, I just picked Cerise to avenge my comrades.

(*Is very late again*) But then you would have to deal with an angsty Juri ghost for the rest of your lives. But it looks like I got your Utena in the end. She symbolizes Shiori, so close enough. emot-tongue

Yeah, I'm going to make a new thread tomorrow then give it a few days to pick up characters. I want to get a decent balance of characters to make the game fair and spirited and in my usual overzealousness I keep playing around with things. That and I'm still considering basing it on this.

And I imagine I'll do better as a moderator than a player. I think my endless bathering didn't really help the situation, and I could've played more seriously.

Oh, God, yes, that O'Reilly segment is terrible.  emot-rofl  Definitely worth basing a game of Mafia on.  I'd love to play, and my brother has said he'll sign up just to join the game.  (Don't worry, he's an Utena fan too.)

For what it's worth: After the game had already started, I read up on Mafia theory at mafiascum.net, where the consensus is that three Mafia is too many for a nine-player game.  (Three correct lynches and no more than one mistake is a tall order for the town!)  Three Mafia is better suited to twelvish players.  Just so you know!

Re: Mafia - TOWN WINS!

I think it's more that Cerise was too good.

And I have to say that the best reason anyone ever got lynched in a game of Mafia was when I was playing with a bunch of friends from the orchestra  I was in at the time at a big Halloween party. I think there were fifteen of us or so, it was a big game for a real-life event. I was an ordinary townie and it was fairly early on in the game when one of the other players (who later turned out to be Mafia) proposed the following: "Let's lynch [Shattered] because he's a vampire!" (I was wearing vampire fangs and all black as my costume)

It got me lynched because my only response to that was that we were playing regular Mafia, not occult Mafia and my being a vampire really had nothing to do with my affiliation.

Haha, then it's good we won, and yeah. I plan on keeping the numbers low but I -might- add a miller just to keep things interesting, plus I think it'd fit well with the setup.

While I didn't know that specifically, I did keep thinking there were only 2 for awhile.  I was wavering on it, but it did seem like a bit of a steep order to have three.  Stormcrow had plenty of suspicion on him, but until dollface's lynching ended and Night 4 began, I was still hoping that was his desperate way to show his true innocent. ^_-  Thankfully, we only had one incorrect lynching.  I'm still soooo sorry for that Archambeau!  emot-gonk

But I was innocent! You don't really believe harmless little Wakaba tore the student council president limb from limb do you? It was that witch Himemiya striking out from the grave! school-devil

I was the innocent one! I wasn't Anthy!Mamiya. I was Real!Mamiya! The worst thing I've ever done is force my tired body from my sick bed to water some flowers! It's all that damn Mikage's fault. Burning down buildings and blaming it on a dead boy! Tsk tsk.

But Mikage died pretty early on in the game, which means that one of you two were the real evil master mind behind all of this... But was it Mamiya, or Wakaba that was pulling the strings behind this...?

Or perhaps it was both of you. emot-tongue
