As for Davy Jones...I'm less impressed with him. Except for the ABSOLUTELY AWESOME organ playing with his beard, which I rather liked staring at in every scene he was in because OOO IT MOVES AND SQUIRMS WEIRD. I want Davy Jones tempura!

Well, yeah there is that. But Barbossa is obviously inferior to Jack, so making him Akio would seriously mess up the power-relations.

Personally I enjoy his voice. "Do you fear death?" was a seriously cool introduction for the guy. He's got something classical, old-fashioned style about him that makes him damn cool, even though his looks aren't exactly attractive.

I've given a taught or two to a Utena pirate fanfic with, in my opinion, interesting powerplays and issues paralleling the series, but I suck at finishing my own writings, so I'll keep the idea on hold at least until I have enough time and motivation to get the whole thing done.
