This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
This is a thread to talk about none other than... dolls. If you like dolls, this is your thread.
This is my doll. She is as of yet nameless and I plan to dress her in gothic lolita clothing to match the clothing I will own in the near future. It's not like I play with her, but I always appreciated the beauty of porcelain dolls. She was my great-grandmother's.

I LOVE DOLLS!
I have two ABJD dolls aka a ball-jointed doll (Outa (F, Dream of Doll, Tender Zen, 2006) and Amanda (F, Souldoll, Mayu 1.0, 2009)), my grandmother's porcelain doll (Liisa) and of course many others like my dad's doll. Liisa is almost 70 years old and she is wearing the clothes my grandmother knitted when she was a kid.
Outa and Amanda take the most of my doll time. I do play with them. I take photos, make clothes and write stories. I could spend hours talking about them and their stories but I know that you prefer me not doing it. They're both MSD, about 45 cm long. Outa looks more like a kid and Amanda is ... just like those girls taken from anime. She is still better than Dollmore's girls.
My sister has a porcelain doll but it's broken at the moment. We lost a leg when she fell down. Now we're looking for a new pair.
What I hate the most with dolls is that it's hard to find small things like chairs and tables. Most are made to be used by bigger or smaller dolls than Outa and Amanda.

You could totally talk all about your dolls, I think it's awesome that there are other doll lovers. XD

Thanks.
So, Outa's story is little bit shorter than Amanda's. At the moment I don't have pictures about her. I bought Outa 2008, but she her model is Tender Zen 2006. Back then they didn't use double-joints so it's hard to make her stand or pose. Outa's previous owner didn't need her anymore and I had been looking for a bjd long and Tender Zen was one of the first models I fell in love with but I couldn't afford new doll.
Outa has white hair and blue eyes. She is a little girl who dreamed a world. She is 'uneksuja' (dreamer). Dreamer is a person whose dreams turn into reality. It's a sickness and most of dreamers avoid sleeping because they don't want to meet their nightmares. If dreamer gets a chance, new world will be born. That's what happened to Outa. She was six when she became a dreamer in a little village far away from big towns and at the age of 10 she dreamed a world. There she is a god who doesn't understand anything at all. I've been doing little stories about Outa and her world since 2008. Nobody else is alive there and she really tries to find someone but hasn't been able to dream a dream about another person.
When I saw Souldoll's Mayu 1.0, I didn't like it at all. I prefer closed eyes or anything but too big eyes and that's what Mayu 1.0 has. Outa's story was at the point of new dream and I started thinking about a new doll: I had enough money and good character ideas. Amanda is the owner of the House of Madness. Very intelligent and witty woman who just happens to be married to mr.'Hulluus' (Madness). I had the character but no model for the doll. I looked around and time after time I returned to look Mayu 1.0.
Second thing was to look for new wig. I wanted Amanda to look like proper woman but her hair should be terrible. And I wanted her to be blond. Wigs are always a problem for me. Now I'm looking new wigs for both girls. Souldoll makes the best wigs but I don't have money to buy a wig that costs more than 20€. My friend helped me and gave her doll's old wig for Amanda. It's not the right wig but it's better than nothing. Amanda has yellow eyes but I'm looking for pink ones. Outa needs new eyes too.
Amanda walked into Outa's life when she dreamed a person for the first time. Amanda has her own will but doesn't know that she was dreamed by a little girl she doesn't respect. Amanda can't leave the house of Madness, so she is desperately looking for her house, and wine. Amanda can't stand Outa's poor life and little suitcase where they live. Suitcase was the only way for me to explain how Outa wakes up in different places every time and I love old suitcases. This one is from 60s.
Now I'm looking for Naava and Nietos. The ideal model for them would be Soom's old twins but they're not sold anymore and it's almost impossible to get those anymore. Soom is too popular at the moment. I don't want to think how much their dolls cost. I also need Satusetä and Kaiku. Satusetä is Outa's worst nightmare and Kaiku is incomplete dream who just woke up without eyes. It means that I need to find a way to make her eyes to look like sewn together. (If someone has a idea, please tell me ; __ ;)
I hope to find someone to paint Liisa's head as she doesn't have hair. She is so old. I'm not good enough to make painted hair to look alive even though I can make mohair wigs.

I'm pretty addicted to custom 1/6 scale myself. Most of my guys are Obitsu, and a good chunk of them are based on pre-existing characters because I'm unoriginal like that.
Ghinius and Aina Sakhalin, from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. Ghinius was my first doll ever, hurr.
Eusine, from various Pokemon canons. I swear this boy thinks he models for Abercrombie&Fitch.
Cima Garahau from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories. Because I needed a sexy pirate bitch in my life
Jirarudan/Lawrence III/that collector dude from Revelation Lugia/Pokemon: the Movie 2000.
In case you haven't noticed, I seem to have a thing for obscure Gundam and Pokemon characters. Believe me, these are only 5 of like 13 custom dolls I have running around (granted not all are Gundam and Pokemon. I do have some based on OCs!). I'll leave it at this for now though, because holy giant pics Batman and I'm tired.

Oh my, please get some rest! But thank you very much for sharing your dolls! If you have more pictures, post them! I like Gundam and Pokemon too, and I like seeing what people do with their dolls...because I don't have any yet, heehee.

Coronata is a Bobobie weylin on a Souldoll double body, Macarius is a Dollmore Kyle Reese, and Malteser is a Honey Delf Pudding P: The image in my signature is actually a chibi of Coronata from my webcomic about them:
