This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
SO
I decided to re-watch the series today.
While on that subject..
In episode two when Utena goes to class and Wakaba is reading that book then starts jumping over Utena saying "utena, utena, utena! Your my true love!" (or something like that) the girl in the background doesn't do anything XD
BUT I am now on episode 9 and the translation of the title is "Next Episode" D;
What the hell?
..I also keep forgetting Nanami's duel... but that has nothing to do with anything at the mo'...

Yeah...that's a really weird mess-up. It always made me go "WTF? How did they not catch this?" But, I think they translate the title when the episode starts.

The preview for episode 11 says, "Gracefully Cool, the One Who Picks That Flower."
They really did a horrible job on the first disk.

That is really odd, my episode 9 does the same thing. Are you watching the DVD or one of the old fansubs?
EDIT: In the actual frame, it has Next Episode in big black letters. Underneath it, in the actual subtitles, it has the actual title.

Slightly OT, but when I saw the subject header it made me think this: damn, it would have been hilarious if SKU had gone the route of "Arrested Development," and had the "next episode" sequences in the same fashion, i.e. NOTHING from it ever happened in the next episode! Just think of the quality mindfuck that went astray!
And Nanami doing the chicken dance? Comedy gold. Dammit, this is the cross-over from hell.

Mine said cruel, i think. Although I haven't watched it for awhile now, so maybe it didn't...
I was about to go rewatch it all, actually. I had an idea of something I felt like (maybe) writing some sort of essay about in my free time... I just started grad school though and, sadly, I have no free time... which really bothers, traumatizes, and scares me all at once. I don't even know where all my work is coming from, honestly... I mean, I don't remember having work problems in college, and I don't think i had /that/ much less there...
... wow. Tangent. I think mine said cruel though, the phrase stuck out to me. I wasn't paying enough attention to catch/remember the japanese word/phrase used though.
