This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Come here for things you want to know about looking good or things you want to share about looking good!
To start, the thing seems to have confused some of y'alls: how to curl one's hair with socks.
Step 1: Wet your hair. My preferred method was to do this right after I took a shower. (No picture provided; I figure you guys know well enough how to do this on your own).
Step 2: Take some of your hair and separate it from the rest.
Step 3: Take a sock (ideally crew-cut; longer than an ankle sock, but shorter than a knee high) and put it underneath said separated hair.
Step 4: Wrap your hair around the sock, holding it so it won't loosen.
Step 5: Roll your hair around/with the sock towards your head, still making sure it does not loosen.
Step 6: Once the sock has reached your head...
Tie the sock into a knot.
You are now all set!
All that's left is to go to sleep, wake up in the morning, untie the sock and let your new curls bounce earthward.
(Results will vary!)

Naji, I have the world's biggest jailbait girl crush on you. Also, I am SO trying this on my weekend! I love the way my hair looks with curls, but I've always hated having to work the stupid curling iron for it.

My hair is barely past the nape of my neck to even experiment (but too long to spike it or anything), but even so, you look adorable in those how-to pics!

How could someone so pretty and cool like someone like me? I'll be sure to use this to my advantage and have henna at the ready whenever it is that I meet you.

thank you Naji! That helps a lot. I had found another description of it, but it was done differently and I didn't see how it would be able to survive the night. Who knows, I might give this a try this weekend. It's unlikely to work with my incredibly fine, limp hair, but over the weekend, who really cares?
