This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Emo kids... *points and laughs*
Still, pretty spot-on parody. Love the villainess' bad dubbing.

It makes fun of emo kids and the original power rangers show, which is pretty hilarious on its own. What more could you possibly ask for?

Is it sad that this spoof has better graphics than the actual show?
Offline
The actual show had virtually no computer graphics, at least not as we think of them nowadays. The scenes with the giant robots were all people in giant robot suits. But the graphic work in this is very good indeed. I'm impressed with whoever took the time to do it.

What the fuck did I just watch
My favorite is the broken heart one. She's my kind of girl-- bitchy rage all the way.
Offline
Well I'm talking about the newer ones, with the cheezey CGI and such. Where as the old show was just steller!

I love the original, which seems to be the one that this one's parodying. Yeah, the current ones are cheesy... but the white ranger from Mystic Force is such a MILF.

Mine too, Yasha. I liked her. The emo tears one made me laugh, but then I remembered that I get like that..crap.
And where did the stoner emo come from? I wasn't aware that emo kids did drugs too.

Drugs don't make distinctions, not even in silly trends.

Lots of emo kids are stoners, unless they're straight edge, and straight edgers are creepier to me than stoners.

I cannot relate too well with any of the kids in the Emo Rangers too well as I am way more Sto than Emo anyway.
I cannot too, but I am sure it wasn't made for relating and more for laughing

If you guys enjoyed this, check out the French sentai tribute, Jushi Sentai France Five.

Like I said, it's more of a tribute than a parody (although it's hard to do any sentai without a certain element of self-parody). Actually, by episode four (the only one with english subtitles), it's actually not bad. And they has a Baguette-themed character. You just can't beat that. Also, the combat choreography is usually quite well done (I especially like the sequences with Pink à la Mode and Silver Mousquetaire).
Oh, sentai. Somehow, it always makes me happy.

Good point.

Straight-edge is a fairly recent movement among emo kids and emo-kid types such as those who call themselves "hardcore" and look down on emo kids but are indistinguishable from them. Straight-edge is a movement attempting to make abstaining from drugs of all sorts and underage sex cool, rather than just a healthy choice for an individual to make. It's also very keen on vegetarianism and very anti-sexist but for some reason holds a hatred of gay people that was up until now only seen from religious organizations. I find this odd and hypocritical, but perhaps that's just me.

well about the first about abstaining about drugs and sex I can understand. There is so much pressure in that lately that it was to be expected that sooner or later a movement would be made about that. Still it's kind of extreme but from my point of view is understable. (I was the always sober nerd in my school... XD) Vegetarianianism isn't my kind of thing and I have always been against sexism but... homosexual hating? ... why? I am straight and still I don't get why the hating... Anyways even without gay-hating I would say no thanks, I also think vegetarianism, abstinence from drugs and alcohol and sex should be a choice, not an obligation.
Thank you for the explanation

I'm always glad to explain things. I dislike the movement because it lumps all of these things together, and is specifically making a movement out of it rather than simply encouraging people to make healthy choices for themselves.
Does anyone know the difference between "hardcore" and "emo" or, for that matter, what "hardcore" music is? I've heard the term, but "hardcore music" is gramatically incorrect.
Offline
Perhaps it is. I don't know, I've asked people who consider themselves to be that kind of person what it means and none of them were able to explain it in a way that made any sense. Perhaps to be "hardcore" you have to have to forcibly narrow and shrink your mind.
