Hello everyone! Prince David here, and glad to have discovered this forum. I am a long time Utena fan since back in 2000 when I first saw it at my anime club, Terrapin Anime Society at the University of Maryland. I was extremely shy with horrible social anxieties back then and was introduced to the show at a time when I myself was transitioning into adulthood. I have always been a big fan of Touga. I always wanted to be cool and handsome like him someday. I loved his confidence and that's something I still aspire to in myself to this day. I had intended to dress up as him in his movie black uniform. I got the wig but my friend ended up not having the time to make the costume so it didn't happen. Utena is a series that really means a lot to me.

Other than that, for me personally I am now a software developer in his 30s. I am a huge rhythm gamer, particularly with DDR. Really got into Touhou this year and in general love arcade shoot-em-ups. I also do live streaming on Twitch & Youtube (twitch is prince_david and youtube is princedavid0) I still love the anime art style but it's hard to find many series that really grab my attention these days.

Okay, I'm finally writing this! (I tend to dislike forums, so I've been slow.)

My name is Caro. I got into Utena when it was still pretty new. I recall the series had ended, but the movie wasn't out yet. I think it was 1998. I had just moved out of my parents' house and was 19. A friend of mine at the time recommended it, though she swore up and down Utena and Anthy weren't in love when I asked. I immediately loved it, (though my preference for the dub is recent. A few voices I'm still not crazy about, but several of them I adore!). My appreciation has grown over the years. I suppose that's natural, as it's one of the series you have to watch several times to figure out, and you see something new in it each time. Kozue was my favourite character at first, but Shiori took over about 13-14 years ago. Interestingly enough, that pretty much coincided with my coming to grips with my own bisexuality. (Unfortunately, my first gf was a lesbian Akio. The less said about her, the better.)

I'm really into Naruto, though I disliked Shippuden. I watch Boruto mostly for Mitsuki and Chocho. Rock Lee and His Ninja Pals is possibly the greatest show of all time. I loved the original Japanese Sailor Moon, but haven't bothered with the newer versions. Also, I love cosplay, but I don't like going to cons as I have social anxiety. (Anthy at the ball is exactly what I'm like in a massive crowd.) I did cosplay as Shiori four years ago at Akon, but didn't get any pictures and now I don't fit the seifuku. I'm working on it, though! My drawing abilities have worsened with age, but I'm getting better with fanfics. I have a few Utena fics planned, but am only seriously working on one at the moment.

I have million other obsessions (mostly nerdy), but it'd take forever to type them up. The Monkees would be high on the list, though.
