This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Somewhere I found a picture which is based on this one:
http://www.ohtori.nu/gallery/saitoluxury/Luxury17.jpg
except that someone appended a poem in Japanese to it. I have it in my files as:
Utena-sleeping.jpg but could not re-Google it. I guess I could upload my file if necessary but I basically I just wonder if there is someone else who knows the picture and knows what the poem is saying. I am not sure but the poem might be from one of the Be-Papas team.

I don't think anyone knows, but I'm sure someone here would take a hack at it if you uploaded the file. My japanese is awful, but I might be able to puzzle some of it out.

If you have Windows XP and the East Asian character system installed, you can use AltaVista's Babel Fish to get an "Engrish" translation. It will be very poor quality, however, and nowhere near what the original writer intended. It's an idea I thought I'd throw out, but the best bet is to go to somebody who knows the language and have them translate it...maybe as a favor, maybe for a fee. You'll never know unless you ask.
As for me, I know about as much Japanese as a pint of Guinness. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I don't know how to upload images. I imagine it has something to do with the image tags. Could someone could point me to the directions?

You wanna use http://imageshack.us. It'll let you upload the image to their servers, then you can post it here. There are a few people here who read Japanese, so one of them might be willing to help if they could see the text.

That name sounds familiar...hopefully someone can give you some idea of what it says. I'm afraid I wouldn't get my hopes up too much if that's your source material, the kanji aren't clear enough I don't think.

Quickie tried to make it a bit clearer.

I'm not even going to attempt kanji while at work.

I haven't finished deciphering some kanji characters, and I'm not so sure of the first character and some of the pronunciation, but here's the rough Romanji:
tsuu(?)ka ni, tsuuka ni, tsuuka naru
tsukiyo no soko de ___ nari ___ ru
bokutachi wa nihane(?) no usagi datte
sotto ichido dake mamoto(?) ni ___ wo yosete
--------demo kotoba ni wa naranakatta
ima wa kioku de shikanai ano heya no
mahou no toki wa owattanoni
Last three lines translate to something like:
--------But the words back then are
Now nothing more than a memory of that room
The magic hour is over
I'll see if I can strain my eyes further, then maybe I can get a better reading. ^^0

Haruka ni, haruka ni, haruka naru
Tsukiyo no soko de kasanari-nemuru
Boku-tachi wa niwa no usagi datta
Sotto ichido dake mimimoto ni kuchibiru wo yosete
-------demo kotoba ni naranakatta
Ima wa kioku de shika nai ano heya no
mahou no toki wa owatta noni
Faraway, faraway, in the depths of the faraway
Moonlit night we were two rabbits,
Sleeping close together.
Gently, I only once moved my lips to your ear
-------but I could not put it into words.
The magical time of that room
Which is now nothing but a memory
Is over...
Not the most elegant translation, but it remains close to the literal meaning of the original.
