This episode was a royal pain in the arse with the panned shots. All of them had something to make them harder than necessary. On the bright side (if you like), at this rate, there's going to be a considerable spike in how many caps of each episode get kept in the Akio Arc. More work for me, but it's much harder to narrow things down here. There's a great reliance in this arc on subtle changes in facial expressions and sequence of symbols. The BRS was probably more symbol heavy but didn't rely as much on a sequence, just the presence of a symbol. (You can analyze say, Shiori's injured birdie with just a couple shots to suggest it broke its wing, where you kinda need the repeated theme of Miki's windup birdy bumping into things to analyze it.)

You know, I tend to assume a lot of the characters aren't actually Japanese. I'm not sure why I think that, except that Ohtori strikes me as the kind of school that would get a lot of variety that way.

Most definitely, Razara.  i know my Tokyo Tower.  It may look red and whire, but it's actuallt a dark orange and white striped.  My college anime club once entered the homecoming parade with a Tokyo Tower float as the theme was "Wonders of the World."  Sadly, I'm sillily paranoid about ever visiting the Tokyo Tower should I ever get to Tokyo - you know, with all the explosions, monster attacks and being transported to alternate dimensions.

...on that note, do the Shiori ones seem alright? I was a bit unsure about those too, but especially Saionji since his eyes were darker than his eyelashes X__x
