This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Nope. The character in Watchmen and Matthew Goode playing him.

lmao Ozymandias was the shit! I loved him, he was always portrayed as a visionary and a merciless businessman. Plus he kicked utter ass. Did you notice how at the end of the movie, Veidt was the one rebuilding all of the wrecked buildings after he blew up the center of Manhattan? And Mathew Goode is such a stud, I think your earlier suggestion that he play older Draco Malfoy was a fantastic one.

Thanks. But he was always my favorite character..ever since I first read the comic, now....
He's like the best character ever! Not only was he able to kick any human's ass (even Rorshach) he did save the world in retrospect.
And he let Matthew Goode go blonde.

In Poland it's allowed to have sex when you're 16 but you have to wait 2 years to drink alkohol or watch porn.

Floating off topic, but in Canada the age of consent is 16, but the age of consent for anal sex is 18. I guess it's not too far off topic, since that factoid does make me smile, or at least giggle.
In my home state of Florida the age of consent is 18, but in most states it's lower, usually 16. I think this is a concession to reality. Teenagers are going to have sex whether it's legal or not, so we might as well not clap them in jail for it. And in most states, including Florida, you can have sex a couple years before the age of consent provided you're close enough in age to your partner. Florida also has an amusing exemption for sex acts conducted with a "bona fide medical purpose," which challenges my imagination.
Returning to the thread's intended purpose, some things which always make me smile are fireflies, swallows, dragonflies, rabbits, unusual colors of the sky, water lilies, the smell of vanilla extract, and flattery. I could make a list of thirty-five without breaking a sweat. I smile easy sometimes.

Hey, satyr, just curious, are you someone who feels that putting the 16 or lower on sex instigate teens to have sex at a younger age? Because moving from California to Texas, and in the community I am now in that's what they're debating about currently. I feel opposite to that, but knowing you, you come up with very good arguments on many aspects.

You know, this seems to be a subject of broad enough interest that it deserves its own thread (and I don't want to hijack this one). Let's move the discussion over here!

LOL WUT? HAHANOOOOO.
Although, incidentally, I did come to post about Ozymandias, the poem by Shelly. As well as William Blake's poetry.

It's supposed to be left open. There are multiple equally valid interpretations.

Really? I don't see it that way at all. The whole thing is a cosmic joke. Ozymandias (as in the poem) is reknowned for the absolute irony of his arrogance -Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair. What works? Everything he accomplished, no matter how great it may have been, is buried under miles and miles of sand. It's a warning in the past -look on my works and despair knowing that you will never equal me- and a warning in the present -look on my works and despair, knowing that yours will disappear as mine have, no matter how great. Adrien Veidt -Ozymandias the "hero"- may have achieved a great work -the "armistace" - but it will fall apart and die in the future. It's inevitable. Rorschach's journal will do it in the near future, or humanity's own forgetfulness in comfort will do it in the not so near future.

Or Ozymandias was trying to fix a problem that didn't exist. It's worth remembering that in real life, nuclear war between the U.S. and the Soviets didn't happen. Even without an Adrian Veidt around to forge an armistice by unifying humanity against some illusory common threat, the Cold War ended without a bomb being dropped. In light of that, Ozymandias's accomplishment was simply, and only, the destruction of Manhattan and millions of innocent lives. It's hard to see Ozymandias as the world's savior for the same reason it's hard to see George W. Bush as the savior of civilians from Saddam Hussein's massive stockpiles of WMDs.
Edit: Hang on, what thread is this again? This thread seems to be getting hijacked a lot. Foxes make me smile, as does sniffing a glass of good champagne, and as would seeing further discussion of the morality of Ozymandias moved to another thread.

Who listens to ramblings of a known psycho lunatic in a magazine that sympathises with the Ku Klux Klan? It's supposed to be ambigious. Personally, I think that nearly any excuse that allowed the superpowers to back up while saving face would have worked just as well, but my interpretation isn't the only one.

HAH, satyreyes wordplay always makes me smile. Even when it's awful.
Also, my sweet as peaches boyfriend makes me smile, especially when he loads up a coffee card for me. The way to my heart is indeed through my caffiene intake valve.
