This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

How to act like Utena

So someone linked this on Twitter earlier...

That last step made me laugh like crazy after I got past the nerd rage. Take notes, everyone.

Somewhere, there is an unplugged toaster sitting on a Coleman stove.

Does it feel lonely?

Re: How to act like Utena

I've seen this before, but OMG I love it:dance:
Some of the numbers are actually not too bad of life advice, but then the last one, OMG, just...emot-rofl

Man or woman, it doesn't matter, one of strength and nobility is always a prince-Utena Tenjou, Revolutionary Girl Utena manga volume one

Re: How to act like Utena

OMFG this is like the best long joke and then punchline is amazing. All this great advice and then Akio happens.

Am I supposed to like the last step best? Regret in life: not sleeping with a superior in school. school-freud

Akio, you have nice turns of phrase, but your points aren't clear and you have no textual support. I can't give this a passing grade.

Re: How to act like Utena

I wish this had a Q&A section. It'd have some awesome follow up questions...

"I'm not 14 anymore, can I still find my prince?"

hahah. wow what a wikihow.

Re: How to act like Utena

Bwahaha, that was great.

I have been known to ask myself "WWUD?", not because Utena is a great decision-maker but because her values are values I aspire to. I don't think I'll be sleeping with any long-legged older men soon, though. For a number of reasons. emot-biggrin

I'm crying.  That was ...beautiful.  Thank you, random citizen.

What's the point? Art is so useless. It's such a waste of time!
And it's not like anyone else ever wastes time. It's not like you spend hours in front of the television or the computer accomplishing absolutely nothing.
Oh wait.
