Ballroom Anthy Cosplay [SakuraCon 2016]
Hi there!
I'm a newbie here. I was referred by purplepolecat to take a look here and post pictures from my most recent cosplay, so here I am~
SakuraCon is in Seattle, and it's the closest con to where I live, and I attend it almost every year. At this last one, I got to fulfill a dream of mine, and cosplay Anthy. 
She's my favorite character in the series, and I've always appreciated her as an empowering character of color I could represent fittingly, and with pride.
One of my friends makes costumes professionally, and she was kind enough to be my Utena, and make everything (our dresses, wigs, and accessories) herself! She's incredible, and I still feel super lucky about the entire situation. I hope you'll appreciate her Utena, as I think she did her beautiful justice! We did the ballroom style~

These photos have really good angles plus I love all three of the cosplays. Is there an actual ballroom in the background of some of the photos?

Wow these costumes are incredible! Great pictures! The colors are spot on and the wigs are amazing. Styling wigs is a mystery to me, I can't even get my own hair to curl and stay in place lol. Congrats to your friend for a job well done. Thanks for sharing.

Deeds24, it's a big quiet lobby at a fancy hotel in Seattle, called the Fairmont Olympic. The group we joined for the photoshoot were geniuses to think of going there. *w*
Airetam, right?! Wigs are a mystery and a nightmare to me.
For my wig, my friend ended up purchasing a long straight wig and manually put it in curlers and attacked it with extra hold spray. We took it out at the con and some of those curlers were a scary beast to untangle. Haha!
