This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Auau... I followed the set-up instructions and I can hear the opening song but the window shows no visual! What did I do wrong, and how do I fix it? The SSF tutorial says to try to set-up the BIOS but the opening of this post says I don't need one?
Also it looks like someone on a previous page had the same problem but didn't get noticed.
It's not so much that Pinstru didn't get noticed, it's just that I don't think most of us are particularly familiar with SSF. I'm certainly not. Sorry! It's a pretty finicky emulator, I know.

Well if you don't know I guess my other option is to try the other emulator, but there weren't any instructions for the BIOS the other emulator apparently needs... (don't know what that is...)

Thank you for posting this. Absolutely love it.

Aaaaaaahh, I'm so happy I get to play this game! Big thanks to everyone who worked to get it translated and running properly, you're amazing!! (As my username suggests, I only really signed up on this forum for it; I'm more of a lurker by nature...)
I do have one question though - how do you save? I can't seem to figure it out at all, there's the load screen but I don't see anything about actually saving the game?

Welcome! No problem, I lurk heavily myself here and elsewhere.
At certain transition points, the game will offer you the chance to save. That's all. Hope you enjoy the game!

Ah, thank you! No wonder I couldn't find a save menu then, haha

Hey all, first time poster here. I must extend my thanks to the people in charge of this translation. You guys rock!
In any case, I'm a Mac user, so like a few users here, I'm having some trouble getting this game to run, though I was able to run the translator program without a problem. The software I use is called OpenEmu, which only accepts .m3u files for multi-disc games like this. A .m3u sheet, however, can only be used for .cue and .bin files, not .iso files like the ones supplied here. Even after writing pseudo .cue files to read the .iso files, OpenEmu does load the game, properly identify it, and assign it cover art, but when I load the game itself, I'm taken to the Sega Saturn home screen with a message that says "Disc unsuitable for this system". This happens regardless of the core I use (OpenEmu includes both Yabause and Mednafen for Saturn emulation, the latter of which no one has mentioned here, it seems).
I realize this is a tech-heavy question, but does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Ideally, I'd like to get the actual .bin and .cue files for this game, but I cannot find any free software to let me convert the .iso to .bin/.cue format, and it seems bossy to demand those files from the team that's already done so much hard work.

Hmm. I'm guessing a pre-patch copy of the game wouldn't work, because the patch won't play nice with the bin/cue.
I shared to your email a copy of the post-patch translated ISO for disc 1 that I converted to Bin/Cue. Let me know if this works for you, and I'll do the same with the second disc.

For some reason, OpenEmu doesn't load the game at all into the library when I try to import the .cue file. To be sure, I did attempt to load the first disc of Panzer Dragoon Saga as well (as a .cue file), and that didn't work either. Given these results, I'm willing to bet that OpenEmu checks if an imported game has multiple discs, and prevents the game from importing if not all the disc files are present.
If it isn't too much trouble, could you convert the second post-patch ISO? I'll load that along with the other .cue into an .m3u sheet and get back to you with the results on that. If they work, I'll be happy to host the files on Google Drive or MediaFire for future users with similar setups. Regardless, thanks for your help here! Have some shaved ice~

Really? My OS is Windows 10, but I can use a VM for another OS if necessary! (Yay for Virtualbox, and other VM stuff!) Seriously, I would love to play that game so much, so I'll use literally use any OS to play it!
Sadly, I forget what copy I initially downloaded,

Haha, I PMed you the link to my gmail copies of the game Raz. There are iso files there and I'll try to throw up bin/cues later this week.

Hey! Thanks you so much for translating the game! You're the best
It works fine.
Loving your translation! I thank you so much for it, again, as a lover of Utena's series! And sorry if I write wrong, I'm not a English native speaker

I downloaded everything, but I have issues with the game freezing. I think I make it through the first like two game options and then it stops responding. ;_; I'll just watch a play through on youtube I suppose. (I've tried trouble shooting it but... I am seriously terrible with computers as far as that stuff goes.)
Also.. this seem to be form the game. Can we talk about this??? Pleeeeeease ? (be still my very gay little heart)

Sorry you can't get it to work. Sega Saturn emulators are fiddly. I couldn't play the game myself for years, until I got a new computer that liked SSF more than my previous one did.
If you're watching a Youtube Let's Play, I recommend Neko Kakumei Kitty's, which has some entertaining running commentary and voting by a bunch of people who were watching the livestream. It's a Juri run, which seems like it would be up your alley!

Those are absolutely from the game. All the romance-able characters have a shower scene or equivalent. We could talk about them more if you want, but you may as well watch the playthrough and see the Juri one in-game, at least.

When I try downloading the game, it gives me a 404 error when I click on the link. Why?

Hello, I would like to ask for help,
I cant get past the starting animation! Its probably because I'm still quite new to old games and emulators and stuff, but I don't know what to do after the "press START button" screen! I've watched the animation many times because of this...
Help would be greatly appreciated

Well, if you got to the "press START button" screen, that's a good sign. I don't know what emulator you're using, but have you checked whatever "controls" setup option they have, to see what button on your keyboard corresponds to what button on the Sega Saturn controller (and change them, if you want)?

It's been over a year, and I finally got this game to work. I sat my ass down, found tutorials to help me with stuff, and I now have a working, gorgeous, batshit crazy visual novel.
Thank you so much Dallbun, Endless and everyone else who worked on this project!!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to romance Juri.

I know this is a year old, but I just came to say that I found a solution.
Try this version of SSF: http://www.emucr.com/2017/03/ssf-test-v … 70312.html
It is a test version so I'm not sure how stable it is but I've had no problems. I finally have visuals to go with the audio
This is on Windows 10 btw

Hello! I recently tried to set up the game and everything works but the translation. I followed all of the instructions and I'm not sure what I did wrong.
