This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
This upbeat pop song has an angsty tongue-in-cheek flavour (I would argue). That reminds me of guess what? The epic-yet-twisted relationship between Anthy and Utena!
I really enjoy pairing the show with songs you might not think fit at first glance.
Music: Blank Space by Taylor Swift
Genre: Romance, Drama
Focus: The tragic-seductive side of SKU (no wait, isn't that every side?)
Learning Curve: I'm focusing on using few effects and trying to get all the impact from scenes selected and timing to particular lyrics. I'm aiming to get smoother and more impactful as I go.

I enjoyed this! There are so many destructive relationships in SKU, so no shortage of material.
Tech note:
The problem with mixing TV and movie footage is that the aspect ratios don't match, so if you're presenting it in 4:3 you either have to:
* squish the movie footage to 4:3 (as you did)
* "letterbox" the movie
* crop the sides off the movie
If you present it in 16:9, you have the same problem, but with the TV footage.
Cropping is probably the most visually pleasing solution, and at least you can choose which part of the frame you show.

Hey sharnii! Good to see you
Aside from the aspect ratio issue, I really think this song was a good choice, and the video gave me a few chills. I really like your timing, too!

Thanks purplepolecat and Yasha! Encouraging.
@purplepolecat, thank you for the tech note. I've never noticed this before, but I see what you mean.
I use Windows Media Maker 2.6 to vid which is an old version of the freebie that comes with Windows. Any way to crop the sides off the movie as you suggest? Or ideas for programs I could use to do that?
