I saw Pan's Labryinth yesterday night, that was very nice, a dark wonderful fairy tale.

I liked A Prairie Home Town Companion but then I again I'm a fan of the radio show so... there you go.

I watched Disney's Robin Hood which... you know being an adult and watching that movie and having seen The Lion in Winter makes all the Mommy jokes about Prince John even funnier. Or maybe that's just me.

Lion in Winter is one of the best movies ever and I need it on DVD desperately.

I really want to see Hannibal Rising and read the book as well.

Everyone I've spoken to that's seen it has loved Pan's Labyrinth. I'm quite convinced I need to see it myself, if not in theaters, then as soon as it's out on DVD. In theaters, is it dubbed or subtitled, by the way?

What the crap, I get so much heat put on me for thinking it's a hot movie. I thought I was alone in the world. Frankly there's hardly a character in that movie I wouldn't have sex with. I want a rubber-band-about-to-snap morally conflicted gorgeous priest in a sexy black outfit to corrupt.

Sweet. I need more of that in my life, I hear a lot of Spanish at my job but it sounds awful because it's the Spanish version of redneckspeak or those really trashy English accents. I just can't decide whether to see it in theaters or not. I hate going to the theater anymore. Last time I went it was for Casino Royale, which...well that was worth it just for the ball torture.

Yeah, it's a few years old (released in 2005), on 4 DVDs, I think there are 3 or 4 episodes on each. And it's also running on Russian TV too.
I read it just recently too and it was quite good. I mean, one moment they're showing how Pontius Pilate is having regrets for getting Yeshua crucified and then the next moment you see Margarita flying around in Moscow on a broom. Oh yes, did I mention she's naked while doing so? Not to mention the whole thing about the devil visiting Moscow and causing a quite a big chaos.

I just checked one of the theaters that isn't on moviefone and it's playing it and much less miserable than Sunset. I think since my tutoring session got cancelled (yay, I hate doing it) that I might run up there and see it tonight...

Edit: O shi, and Hannibal Rising plays right when it gets out...

(By the way no early screening but this theater is not a popular one, especially not on a Monday night. )

Oh god, preach it, sister! Conflicted gorgeous priest corruption, YES!

Good lord almighty Pan's Labyrinth was amazing. Now I understand why everyone said to see it but couldn't tell me what it's about. It's just not like that, but it really was a beautiful, moving piece of work, a fairy tale and not, heartbreaking but not...yikes. There is definitely something about it though that makes me think SKU fans especially are the sort to appreciate it. If I described what, it would spoil things. Just go see it.

And don't be like the cocksuckers in the theater with me that bitched because it was subtitled.

I regret I missed a couple. I will correct this by totally catching as many as I can. Definitely going to one of the encores for The Last Emperor. Maybe I'll make a thread about it if a few more of you are interested in going to any of these. I'm woefully underexposed to this stuff and it would be fun to make the learning experience a group thing.

Oh and I saw Hannibal Rising. Just watch the trailer, the best parts are in it, as are the best lines.

What I want tos ee this weekend is Breach.  It's based on the true story of Robert Hannssen and the biggest case of treason in US history.  The story is a young new FBI agent, fresh out of the academy, is assigned to partner with Hannssen and spy on him.  The FBI wants to catch hannssen in the act of seeling Russia secrets and they're using this new aent to do so, to gain hannssen's trust.  It has Ryan Phillipe, Chris Cooper and Laura Linney in it, so it will have good acting.  The trailer looks good and it feeds my conspiracy theory bone a little.

Pan's Labyrinth is just beautiful. I went to go see it after work a couple of days ago...and it's just awe-some. But I am on a movie rampage anyway, I just saw Hannibal Rising (I love you Gong Li!) and Letters from Iwo Jima.

This Pan's Labyrinth thing has intruiged me. I'm checking it out on wikipedia as we speak, er, post.


Hmm...some of my favorite movies. The Neverending Story is one, because the Childlike Empress is fantastic. From my mom's collection of classics, Hello Dolly and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. And I have a weakness for romantic chic-flics, so add to that Hope Floats and Pretty Woman. Add to that most Disney movies. >.> And a few more I can't remember right now.
