WTF's a "coed" today? Oh, it's a female student... probably in a porno.
But I still see the New York Times, Yahoo News, and genuine on the street human beings use it as if it has serious currency today, in english-centric parts of the world.

And along with coed can go poetess and aviatrix. They're nice words, but we don't need them anymore, and they've started to sound a little patronizing. Happily, I think they're dying already -- along with some early tech buzzwords like "information superhighway" that have outlived their usefulness.
