This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

I just sent Right Stuf an e-mail suggesting this option, saying that everybody here would probably back it even though we all bought the DVDs. Prove me right, people.
(Also, I said they could use it to fund a new dub as well, but thinking about it some more, it would make more sense to make that a stretch goal, so that getting the blu-ray at all doesn't hinge on getting enough money to fund the dub. If it did pass, perhaps backers could even vote on casting.)

A Blu-Ray release, I can take it or leave it. But a new dub? Oooooh momma!
Although, I've heard one of Nozomi's other dubs and I was not at all impressed. It might have been an outlier for all I know, but I still find myself worrying that Miki will wind up sounding like John Candy, among other odd casting choices (crud, now I'm imagining the late John Candy talking about his shining thing and I'm having trouble keeping a straight face).
The question is, though, will there be a large enough fanbase to make this happen? I can't imagine the licencing fees, the studio time, and the talent to be cheap. Have they gotten back to you? I'd want to know what kind of figure they'd be looking for to get it done.

Well, if Animeigo can run a successful Kickstarter to get BGC on bluray...

Surprisingly, yeah.

Honestly no because: A: I don't have a blu-ray player and B: I'm broke.

Sadly, this is my world. I still haven't plunged over to bluray. And, the money I allocated for the cleaned up DVD boxsets, even, is now being repurposed as the "buy my brother a new laptop" fund.
I'm not even sure, without reshooting the thing, if there's any version of SKU that would warrant bluray quality.

Wow, I haven't thought of AnimEigo in ten years. And a visit to the anime section of their website is like a trip back to the late 90s.
Anyway, as for Blu-Rays, I remember seeing some BD screencaps in the threads about the Japanese release, and some of them looked pretty good but I noticed that all the samples were from the OP, not the show itself. The original TV animation was not filmed in such high quality so I wonder how good a transfer you could get of it without putting it through some ugly filters. In any case, I don't have a Blu-Ray player either and my interest in getting video and audio content in physical media is near-nil anymore.

*looks over at his PS3*
And these days, you could get one for a song. Almost.

No, because my TV is only 720p, so the DVD release is as good as I can watch anyway.

I was holding out for a Blu-Ray release, but finances aren't that great right now. Or better said, they aren't mine. So I wouldn't be able to promise anything.
Maybe in 5 years...?
But I've seen the Japanese Blu-Ray version and it spoiled me rotten. (There is noticeable film grain, but it doesn't bother me.)
