This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
So I've created a thread for this game way back when it first got revealed via the Nintendo Direct, so instead of bumping that thread which was made way in early 2013 when I was still a new member of this very forum, It was only like 3 months from when I first registered and I was sort of finding my niche when it came to post threads and I was starting to move on from posting on the Zelda Universe forums since I had a bit of a bad rep over there as a user.
The point of doing a thread about this game now is that we got a lot of stuff revealed over the course of the last 7-ish months, starting with the first story trailer for the game and a showcase of basic gameplay during the various Tree house live streams, There's a twitter page setup by Monolith Soft Dedicated to giving out info regarding this and heck we got some info for 3 of the characters fairly recently on the Japanese website and a New Trailer showcasing the Enviroments plus a relatively short game snippet during the November Nintendo Direct.
The thing is that this game along with The New Zelda and Star Fox is one of my most anticipated game on the Wii U despite not the playing it's predecessor thought I'm planning to get the re release that's coming up in April despite the liberties they've taken with the game graphically speaking since they have to compress the resolution for the 3ds and the UI is fairly subpar with a majority of essential hud elements getting pushed to the bottom scene as if the dev were having having trouble compressing UI elements for the 3ds's resolution and had to move it down to bottom screen to compensate for it.
Here are the links to the various Trailers and Gameplay videos dating back to first trailer of this game along with a link to the Japanese website and the Xenoblade Chronicles subreddit.

And So on, I'm planning to update this thread when we get another Nintendo Direct this March which is before its Japanese release on the 29th of April.
So here is quick run down of key developers, Tetsuya Takahashi is returning as Director and Writer, Kunihiko Tanaka is doing the character design and Hiroyuki Sawano is composing the music for this game instead of assemble cast of composers that Xenoblade had, whether or not the fact that Sawano is doing the soundtracks for this game is good or bad thing depends on what you think of his previous efforts and it's the same thing with how they implemented Tanaka's character designs into design since there has been a lot of controversy regarding the facial design for the characters.

I want to personally elaborate on the issues with the character design from my perspective, the main problem with the character designs are the faces, they contrast pretty badly with the overall look of the game and while xenoblade chronicles did a job hiding it's terrible facial designs because of the Wii's limitations, xenoblade X is s targeting 720p/1080p when it comes to resolution and is going for a more muted color palette to attain a more realistic look, so the anime-ish facial design is going to standout like a sore thumb especially with the lack of cell shading to complement the cartoony facial design, so when you combined the terrible facial design with the generic outfits, it's going to hurt the game a lot in regards to how the player relates to the characters, because it's the looks that matter when it comes to character design with the character's personality being secondary in comparison, yes i know that's fairly shallow thing to say but it's true especially with Fighting Games and Mascot Plattformers like Mario and Sonic.
But ultimately, the way that the character are designed and modeled is a artistic choice on the part of the character designer(Kunihiko Tanaka) and the lead director(Tetsuya Takahashi), the reason why that they designed the characters as they are is to keep in continuity with previous "Xeno" games mainly Xenogears, Xenosaga; Episode 1 and Xenoblade Chronicles whick Kunihiko Tanaka did the character designs for.
Also there's been a dedicated Nintendo Direct that's been released late-last month, so I will edit the Close Captured Version into the OP because this thread is mainly for information regarding the game.
