This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Breast Cancer Awareness In The Form Of An Anime Con?!

Here in Vegas, AnimeVegas is teaming up with Anime FF to host a convention to support Breast Cancer Awareness on Jan 13th to 14th (details can be found here).

TheOtaku.com is also helping them run an art contest (details here). As long as you live in the US, you have a chance to win the following:

First place: PlayStation 3
Second place: PlayStation 3
Third place: Nintendo Wii
Fourth place: Nintendo Wii
Fifth place: Nintendo Wii
Sixth place: Nintendo Wii
Seventh place: Nintendo Wii
Eighth place: Nintendo Wii

I was hoping to enter as well, but I thought I should share.

Ah, I forgot, you don't have to attend the convention to win in the art contest.

If you come in first or second place are you allowed to trade down?

They do already have the supplies, but I have no idea if you can trade down. Knowing Rich (the founder) I would doubt it, but it's worth a shot to ask either on TheOtaku.com or contacting AnimeVegas on their site.

I think I wish I could draw that well.

And it's a really neat idea too.

You can still sell PS3 with several times its actual value on EBay, so if you win it, you can buy yourself Wii and lots of games.

Ofcourse - as long as you can't get the machine from stores, which in practice means before Christmas. There are people who happily pay the street price tripled on EBay. Don't ask me why - I've never understood console fanaticism.
