Re: Erm, not to sound dumb but what is this?

I wasn't -sure- what those were at first, until I saw them actually used. It sorta clicked.

Ah. Sex Ed. The great moment was my teacher trying to actually explain what sex involved.

'And the, uh, man, uh, sticks his.. thing in the.. woman's thing.. and, well, er,' All while pointing desperately at various pictures on the board.

Of course, he managed to make sure everyone left the classing thinking sex was a horrid, painful, gruesome thing that only sickos did. xD;;

On a serious note, I wish people would get over the whole masturbation thing, it's not even the bible. Onan's sin was spilling his seed on the ground when fucking his dead brother's wife, to deprive his dead brother of an heir. That was the sin part, not having a wet dream or jerking off. The whole point was that he was being a selfish bastard who wouldn't do his duty by his family.

ZOMG teh Bible! Don't you love how people misinterpret their own religious texts just because they want to justify something they don't like and feel that nobody else should do it either?

Here the excuse of that parents was that the school didn't have the right to educate their things about things the parents should do... but the big flaw in that excuse is that these are the same parents that don't educate their child about sex. If these parents did their duty of informing sex-ed wouldn't be necesary.

Man you guys are so lucky, I didn't even get sex-ed where people try to tell you how to do it. (I guess they thought we already knew how, which we did since we were in sixth grade) but instead it was all about the consequences. Y'know abortion, sexual diseases, how you're marriage will collpase if you do it before you get married, all that fun stuff. You want to know what's really funny? I refused to sign out one of those "abstience" cards they handed out afterwards, but I'm still a virgin (What can I say? I have some intimacy issues...) and I bet everyone else who did sign them out lost it before senior year.

I didn't actually get sex-ed in biology we were teached the differeces between each body but it was really teorical. Maybe some time or two they told us about the ways of protecting from diseases and pregnancy. (condom, the temperature, pills, etc) but nothing more.  I have to investigate about sex by myself but I don't even remember how I learned what I know... it's weird.

You want to know what's really funny? I refused to sign out one of those "abstience" cards they handed out afterwards, but I'm still a virgin (What can I say? I have some intimacy issues...)

Never heard of that things. They didn't hand them out in my school or in my friends's. I'm sure I wouldn't have signed it either even if I am still a virgin too, bot because I think is good or bad in fact I don't think is fair for a person to be defined by that.

I bet everyone else who did sign them out lost it before senior year. ad.

Here in Mexico we have a say "más rapido cae un hablador que un cojo" which translates to "quicker falls a loudmouther than a person without a leg" it describes that perfectly. That was why I was always anoyed of people who said I am pure and chaste as the virgin, Or I am  staying a virgin because I am very moral/religious.

Re: Erm, not to sound dumb but what is this?

This is yet another reason to love Canada, I think. I'm finding more of them every day, which is really annoying, because I don't want to like Canada.

Anyway, I got my sex education starting in grade... I think it was 4 or 5 or 6. Anyway, thay started early. And holy cow, did we ever learn that stuff. We were tested on it as if it was a part of the normal curriculum, we watched videos-- hell, we had to be able to label medical diagrams. And best yet, there was an anonymous question box that the teacher would read from and provide answers for. We were shown how to put on condoms, and quizzed on the symptoms of diseases.

AND it went on for something like three or four years. I had some excellent sex education, and when I found out that other people didn't get that same level of education, I was horrified.

Re: Erm, not to sound dumb but what is this?

You know for going to a public school in California, one of the most liberal states in the union, I must admit they seemed more preoccupied with scaring us out of sex then teaching us about it. Every single one of the speakers had an abortion horror story to tell and had become a "born again virgin" until they were married. I mean I was never taught how to put on a condom, only that you should use one, and never mind anything about safe homosexual sex. Come to think of it, good thing I wasn't fooling around as a teenager because I wouldn't have known how to do any of the safety stuff much less put Tab B into Slot A.

And for being a virgin I still managed to be more knowledgable than my peers about birth control. I mean I was the only one who knew Planned Parenthood would give you free birth control pills and not tell your parents. That you could get free prgnancy tests and health checks for free or for very cheap if you went to one, all anonymously. No wonder we had to have a daycare at the highschool.

I'm also from one of the most liberal states, Massachusetts, and also went to public schools, but my situation was pretty much the opposite. From 6th grade on up, we were shown films explaining EXACTLY what occurs during sex (and showing it, not with cartoons but tiny cameras INSIDE the woman during penetration: I swear, if the footage they showed us in the films weren't part of a documentary, it would be labeled by parents as pornographic). By high school, we all learned and were drilled with the proper way to apply condoms, and were taught to use dental dams (examples were brought and passed around) or saran wrap as a barrier if we desired to have lesbian sex and wanted to be safe. The biggest thing they hammered in was how you can and can't contract AIDS, and not to treat someone who is HIV positive like a plague victim (in fact, we were once taught the safest ways to engage in relationships with an HIV-positive partner, if we happened to fall in love with one). Boys were told that even if they had gay sex, condoms should be used, and free condoms were available in the counselor's office if asked for. Abortions were explained thoroughly, risks and all, but not advertised as a form of last-minute birth control. And as I've said in other threads, my old HS was a "safe space," meaning homosexuality had to have as much lesson time as heterosexuality, and it couldn't be taught as a psychological problem or anything of the sort. Polygamy and open relationships were also taught as  more difficult but valid relationship options, if engaged in safely.

For the few girls who were pregnant or already had babies, the Childcare classes provided them with free daycare from their peers while they attended their own classes, and any girl who found herself pregnant and wanted to keep the baby was encouraged to stay in school while preganant, and return after the birth and let the school care for the child during class hours.

DAMN, I really went to a liberal-as-hell school, reading this over. emot-biggrin I think everyone in the building knew I was a lesbian, cuz of my big mouth, and it never got me any serious problems.

Did we go to the same high school? emot-gonk I went to school in rural Florida, near Miami. It wasn't uncommon for me to walk into the bathroom and hear people having sex or lighting spoons, but in sex ed? One year the teacher was so uncomfortable with it that I ended up reading the script. Once, a girl walked up to me and asked me if you could get pregnant from anal sex. I wasn't in middle school at the time. There was a ton of sex and absolutely no one knew anything about how to go about it. Planned Parenthood? Never heard of it. Ironically, the schools in the nastier areas were better off. They at least usually aborted.

Shut up and buy a dogsled.

I suppose our school occasionally had a bright idea. But they often weren't executed very well. Like, say, the 'Abstinence Fair' the Seven/Eight class had to hold. The original idea was the older students teaching the younger students all about the reasons you don't have sex until you're comfortable and ready. Instead, it involved blushing kids pushing pamphlets at one another and mumbling. It was a 'nice try' though.

Yasha can vouch for Akio being the first thing I think of whenever I watch that part of The Meaning of Life. 'The penis is now, as you will observe, more or less fully erect.' Classic stuff. Also so not how Akio would go about it that it that it suddenly can't help but remind one of him.

But I have no idea where the term 'fap' comes from! It's always just been there for me, like a friend in a dark hour when all is lost... I looked it up and it's from hentai comics, but Sexy Losers popularized it in the west. Thank god! I've no idea where shlick came from. It doesn't sound to make very accurate, but there's really no accurate noise to give female masturbation. Maybe BZZZZ...?

Yep, here it is:

It's a shame that the prof left a few years ago. I left a year ago myself, but I am probably going to transfer back after this year. I had to leave to take some other courses.
But if you see me, I'm usually swimming alone in the indoor swimming pool in the evenings, reading on the 3rd floor of the library, or shooting billards in the game room.
