This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Nifty Fingers - The Arts and Crafts Thread!

'Kay! We know that there are amazing drawers/painters here in IRG ... but does anyone do any other type of craft? Potters? Scultptors? Weavers? Knitters? Etc? Is there anything you do that ... when you're not doing it ... makes your fingers itch when you're bored? Me? I knit and create some jewelry.

Any cosplayer that has made his/her own costume is, by default, already counted in (especially those that have made some awesome duelist signets and sewn their own uniforms)!

It doesn't matter if you're a pro at it or you're just a beginner: show off that domestic goodness!

Re: Nifty Fingers - The Arts and Crafts Thread!

I've made a bunch of really simple papercrafts, but I have no camera. (stuff like chibis made of paper cones and Snake's box. emot-biggrin Not as impressive with half a paper EVA Unit-00 sitting on the desk across from mine, but still.

Sometimes I sculpt things out of playdoh. emot-tongue

A bead sprite of Valigarmanda from FF6. We called him Tritoch back in the day.

I am an actor cast eternally,                                    Armless, legless, still existing I am,
The eternal me and the eternal stranger,                     I am all the mysteries in creation,
Male/female, positive/negative are the two of me,                 My birth, the absolute birth,
Even light casts shadows, making a pair out of me and me,                I am disconnected,

I can't see it. emot-frown

I sew but... Just SO lazy. emot-gonk
I don't usually get things done unless I'm getting paid. emot-gonk
I keep planing on making my own duelist-y coat, but... yeah. When I have time I never feel like doing it.

And I make alot of models. Though they kinda make me do that for architecture projects and stuff.

...I also have two hollow paper cats. For lack of being able to have real ones... And a small army of paper anime characters  that I'm too afraid to breathe on so that they won't get crushed. emot-gonk

Gio and I are thinking about trying our hands at clothes altering. I will post results! Maybe she will too!

Craftiness is basically my life. If you can name it I've tried to make it in my basement with varying degrees of success.

Pictures will come later. D:

Hinotori made this post, and then went back and changed it later. Such is life.

Re: Nifty Fingers - The Arts and Crafts Thread!

I used to make chainmaille, both armor and jewelry. I have huge sheets of the stuff that I was going to make a shirt out of, but I couldn't get the seams right. If I start making jewelry again, I'll post pictures.

This is a scarf I made two years ago. It's the only picture I have available at the moment. I taught myself how to knit and this was the first thing I came up with! (Yes, I have rosey bedsheets)
