This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Similarities between Akio and Randall Flagg (Spoilers for The Stand)

I recently read The Stand, and noted that the main antagonist, Randall Flagg, is very similar to our favorite pedophile headmaster.
- Both wear strange clothing.
- Both have used sex as a means of control, and have had sex with people of their own gender.
- Both are highly charismatic.
- Both are identified with the Devil.
- Both are immortal.
- Both are revealed to be ultimately powerless.

I'm only starting on The Dark Tower, so I can't say if/how Flagg's character there resembles Akio.
The major DIFFERENCE is that, despite the book cover, Randall never gets around to any swordfighting of his own.
In other news, this is so going in my fanfic.

These are all generic "villain" traits.
