The shopping thread.

Black Friday has passed, which means that now, at least here in America, we NEED to shop like mad. (Its in our food or something. Or in the crazy random sales eveywhere. Possibly both.)

And its IMPOSSIBLE to not buy things for yourself. So what horrible/magical things have you guys recently bought yourselves?
What crazy shopping adventure have you had?
How insanely cold was it. emot-gonk

Cooking Mama 2- AWESOME. I love this game even more than the first.

Utena LD 1- I don't know why I bought this, but it was so cheap(and new!), it didn't matter, but I will probably never be able to watch it. its SO freakin shiny. I should frame it and put it on my wall or something.

This thing-

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/leeness/uwaaa.jpg
Don't know if want.
My mother convinced me I should get this.
My sister says I look like a gothy matador.
I kinda feel like a washboard, but I look pretty nice in pictures with it. Kinda black rose-ish. I'm still too scared to take the tags off yet.

...and I saw a little girl RUN up and hug the ugliest pair of shoes I've ever seen screaming OH MY GOD, COACH! COACH SHOES OH MY GOD. I really can't comprehend how someone can be so OMG over shoes, but whatever.

Re: The shopping thread.

I spent the last of my money on MySims, so I'm broke right now. I feel that this game was a good example of why you should do research before buying something. My economics teacher would be ashamed of me.

Re: The shopping thread.

Very nice shoes I think. Not too overly done and classy.

I've bought too many crappy games, and now I feel the need to research before I even think about pulling out my checkbook. Maybe I should just wait a few weeks, then go back and see the prices on the used games, since they're usually priced from most to least entertaining...

Re: The shopping thread.

Speaking of games, I ordered myself the old Myst games. They came in a box, the first three. I have happy memories of tearing my hair out over the puzzles in Myst but being totally pulled in by the world and the story. etc-love And just in case Myst doesn't make me enough of a nerd, I got Life in the Undergrowth. Yay BBC nature programs! Think Planet Earth but just about undergrowth. That video Yasha has no doubt posted of the slugsex is from that series.

I feel kinda naughty about buying that stuff, but oh well. So far I've managed to resist the corset top at Rickis in the shopping center Yasha works at. I'd post a piccie but it's not shown on their blasted evil website. emot-mad emot-mad

I remember the Myst games from when I was really little. I remember my father showed it to me while he was playing it and said something and a room with a chair and stars. I was never able to figure out how to play it on my own.

That looks quite cool, actually. Not really an everyday wear, but for special occasions.

I'm thinking about buying a 24" BenQ monitor, but it'd drain most of my savings...Decisions, decisions...

Re: The shopping thread.

So, allegoriest...if you change your mind about that jacket, I would be more than happy to take it off your hands.

In any case, to soothe my bruised sense of security after the robbery, I did the Elle Woods thing and had my nails done, then splurged on books, stationery, food, and clothes.  My wallet is considerably thinner in the aftermath, but I have no regrets.

That would make you look like a Black Rose duellist.

Come on! I'm not the only one who thought it!

I want this for myself, but the site that I'm ordering gifts for people from has it on backorder only, so I'm going to wait a little longer and hope that they get it in so I don't have to order it from somewhere else and pay more on shipping than I need to.

I played Myst Online: Uru Live for a while and enjoyed it much. So beautiful, so many nights (and early mornings) spent saying things like "GODDAMNIT WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT STUPID DIPSHIT OF A PUZZLE FUCKING WORK NOW PLZ!!!!!" as well as many wasted pages of paper with drawings of things. etc-love Myst.

Re: The shopping thread.

I'm bad.  I bought many too pairs of pants at H&M.  I thought it'd be okay to spend over $100 because I returned some shoes at Macy's for $60.  But I didn't know how much money was in my checking and I freaked and had to stop myself from buying too much stuff.  And there was this beautiful creme colored trench coat I wanted so badly.  God.  I should have got it, but I didn't.  Now I don't have a beautiful coat. emot-frown  I also bought some more shoes at zappos.com, boots to be exact.  Some knee high brown boots that are to die for, and some calf length black boots with leather ribbons which keep coming untied.  So now my mom has to sew them.  I'm always ending up customizing my stuff.

Oh, the best thing ever?  I ordered a custom made APRON.  Yes.  It's gonna look like this:

Re: The shopping thread.

Woohoo! Shopping! I got this and this and this and this and this and a black shirt pinstriped with silver, a black and grey plaid-ish skirt, a pair of sheepskin gloves with ruffles on them, a black and white rabbit fur scarf, a belt with lock, heart, and key charms, and assorted button-down shirts from value village. Total damage? $40 at value village, $326 at Danier, and a bunch of christmas presents. emot-keke

Re: The shopping thread.

I know. That's where I have the discount. That blazer that was $249 on the site was only $176 or so because of employee appreciation day.

I'm planning on buying probably one thing per month for myself. Unfortunately, the leather pants aren't cut right for me... at least until I lose about ten more pounds. But there's another skirt I have my eye on already.

She does! I got to watch her model all day, it was fantastic seeing her pimp all that leather. cool I liked a different blazer more but it was because that one made her ass look bigger. Some women have this strange idea that's something to be understated. emot-confused

Re: The shopping thread.

I got new art stuff too!
Hobby Lobby just happened to be having a nice brush sale when I went, and I got about $100 of brushes half off. Going to be spending plenty of bonding time with them next week.
(even though I have nothing really to do with them either for the time being.)

I've learnt to love my jacket and worn it several times already. Whee. (Like... when I posted a picture of me in it.)

Also got some sorta nice knives, not took expensive though.
And got a new marimo ball since I gave my old one to my brother.

...For some reason, the idea of a keyboard that lights up when to play amuses me so much. It sounds kinda like a DDR/whack-a-mole thing to me, which could really amuse me forever. I wanted one for a while, but I already have a relatively nice synth. D:
