This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

My Menchi plushie is inedible! Even though it came with a grill.

I guess it'll be a tie then, though silk is way too soft to be used as a whip. Of course, if I were to buy this one... http://www.findcoolclothes.com/01187.html

It's only $2,650.
I supose you will sing the duel song "Internal Clock, Municipal Orrery" every time you see it

You forgot to tenderize it first.

I totally will, even though it's been pretty well established the song's referring specifically to the astronomical clock in Prague that I have every intention of seeing someday because it's SO SWEET.
Also, everything Akio likes I liked first.

Well, I don't know...Knotted raw silk is a well-known whip-material...

I'm going to visit that place, too, hopefully within a couple of years. But I've sworn to myself not to go into Prague unless I have enough money for at least a one fine sword or a piece of armour from the old town - for some reason some of the best swordsmiths of Europe are in Czech.
Incidentally, that orrery picture, where you got it from? I have a habit of drooling over classy looking trinkets like that, hoping that one day I earn enough to decorate my home with such things.
Oh, and what would I like for this Solstice? Some good books, I suppose, more than anything else. A little upgrade for my PC. Alas, it seems that Christmas sex won't be on the list, this year.

Oh man, it's way down the road for me. Especially since Prague isn't exactly a place you do on the cheap. When you go, for god's sake, take a ton of pictures and post them!! I love travel threads.

Yes, it's my dream to be rich enough to afford a thing like that and have the cash to decorate a room where it would look appropriate. I've had that picture on my hard drive for at least three years, but I tracked it down.

This one is also gorgeous.

Actually that whole site is an orgy of my kind of rich snobbery. The sea clock is seriously awesome.

Wow. That IS gorgeous.
I wish I could afford one....and have a cool place to put it. *looks around at randomly decorated room*
One of my dreams is one day when I have my own place (ha) to have a big wood-paneled study with big windows where I can keep all my Japanese stuff displayed or stored in elegant looking containers. Alas, that won't come true for a while....*poor*

Speaking of ridiculously awesome astronomical devices, it turns out we're actually getting somewhere with figuring out the Antikythera Mechanism. Ancient Greece wins at the complex geared devices that could predict the position of the sun, planets, and the timing of eclipses.
(What, you thought Akio just liked them for the orgiastic gay sex and philosophy? )
No, this has nothing to do with anything. I'm just all nerd giddy.

My list:
--a steady monogamous relationship with room for play ('cause my current relationship ain't cutting it)
--Doctor Who: The Complete First Series (the second one comes out in January)
--the last two volumes of Gankutsuou

--iTunes gift certificates
--money/gift certificates for clothes
--framed J.W. Waterhouse prints
--Guitar Hero II, preferably with the Gibson SG controller

Hmmm...what do I want for Xmas...lemme see...
... ... ... (thinks for all of three femtoseconds)
My brother and his wife to visit us for Xmas. He's an Army kid in Korea, and they got married two months ago. I miss them very much...
Of course, having the entire Utena DVD collection would be really sweet, too. I've only got the first DVD.
(begins to feel sorry for himself)

That's like 3/1000th of a picosecond isn't it? I can't remember my prefixes too well.
Offline
I don't remember exactly how small it is either, but it is really damn small.

This is a bit off-topic but I don't want to make a new thread.
Here, I give you "Gothic Christmas" - Within Temptation
THE best X-mas song EVER.
Offline
I found out early what I was getting for Chrismas, it's these two things.
A Galileo style thermometer, I think if I recall correctly that you read it by looking at which bulb is floating in the middle.
A Sandscape, its different coloured sand floating in coloured water with some bubbles wedged inside two plates of glass, you tip it up-side-down and watch it as the sand falls through the bubbles and it slowly forms what appears to be a landscape.

My mom randomly gave me that years ago for Christmas. I was shocked beyond belief; I could not believe she would know what it was, or where to find it. I my mom.
I think this year I'm getting video games and DVDs. Usually I also get something quirky, like a metal arcane universe model, or something. Love it.

What I want for christmas:
Leather whip (for some reason all my friends think I shouldn't have one... I wonder why?)
He-man vol2 (oh the fun, especially while drunk)
James chained to my bed
Nut free poppycock (so I don'y eat a hazlenut and die)
Books (really any kind will do - esp erotica and fantasy)

I'm crossing my fingers and biting my lip that I can simply get a fair amount on money for once.
Ever walk buy a store window and see some article of clothing or jewlery or shoes that you just HAVE to have? That's me with this gorgeous white dress. I'll kill myself on New Years if I can't have that dress. I just cut my hair today and I'm dying it tonight, and nothing could perfect my new look like that dress!
That sounds sooo lame, I'm very aware. But there's no chance in hell I'm getting a laptop. I already saw my Nano, so thats guarunteed. I even got those little tiny pans you cook individual eggs in. All that I need to continue in life is that dress.

A femtosecond is one-quadrillionth of a second. Or, in scientific notation 0.1 x 10^-15 (the little up thing means the 15's an exponent.) Use Windows Calculator in scientific mode to see this astonishingly small parcel of time!
Small, ain't it?
