This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

Re: Absolute Destiny Sburb

Yes, the PBS is now comparing the Homestuck to the Ulysses.  I mean, it's just their Idea Channel webcast, which covers weird pop culture shit almost exclusively -- other topics they've covered have included bronies and dubstep -- but still.  Watch the (short) show here!

Re: Absolute Destiny Sburb

I just came across this animation short. And, I think that it's a pretty good summarization of Homestuck up till Act 5. The maker of this video says she's halfway done. I love to see the finished product:

Re: Absolute Destiny Sburb

Just came across a tumblr post theorizing that Serenity the Firefly is likely to have been Calliope taking form to hide from her brother.

This is interesting.... knowing Hussie, every character plays a pretty important role in advancing the story, somehow.

Re: Absolute Destiny Sburb

Huh.  I'd never thought about it, but now that it's been brought up, it does seem obvious that Serenity has to be something.  Certainly she is no ordinary firefly.  She knows Morse code.  Maybe she is indeed Calliope.

We'll stay on the lookout for the names of Calliope and Caliborn's planet(s), if they get any.  If one of them is the Land of Amber and Anything, I would call that confirmation.

The fact that this can be approached scientifically makes Homestuck awesome.

Re: Absolute Destiny Sburb

Oh God.  I was only going to donate the $25, but... Midnight Crew playing cards?  Enamel pins?  A Sburb keychain?  Why should I have an ordinary keychain, when my keychain could express my fandoms?!

I haven't upped my pledge yet, but I already know I'm going to.  emot-frown

Re: Absolute Destiny Sburb

This is completelyrelevant to everyone.

That whole thing did reveal a lot about Rose, more than most fans are catching onto. Since Cascade, Rose has seemed super competent but this whole scene showed her as both fallible and as nervous as Kanaya was, if not more.

Edited.

That feel when you realize you hadn't typed in everything and now no longer make sense.

Has seemed what?  emot-confused

The scene didn't make me think of Utena, but yes, this is certainly a new side of Rose emot-smile  What are you thinking of specifically?

Finally get to see Her Imperial Condescension speak!

I have to say, she is actually pretty awesome, despite, well, being an evil Batterwitch.

Re: Absolute Destiny Sburb

Serenity theory confirmed. Holy shit, Calliope.

Has anyone read the Glitch FAQ? The Replay AU has called a heart. Ability "Rose of the Noble Castle." That is so much win.
