[Revolutionary Puzzle] Fairy Tales
Fairy Tales
A girl is swept up into a surreal world where she meets, among others, a purple-haired character with a deceptive smile, a character who is obsessed with his watch, and an antagonist who likes red roses.
A girl who cannot be a princess has no choice but to become a witch. She is saved by another girl's all-forgiving love.
A hero bereaved by death in the family must duel to secure the love interest on the way to becoming a prince.
In spite of pressure to conform to gender norms, a girl dresses up as a boy and fights to protect someone dear to her.
A charismatic villain seeks to marry his way into a powerful family. His plans are thwarted by a heroic orphan, a magic-user with fickle allegiances, and a pet monkey.
A magic sword that contains the power of a hero seems to be the way to stop the bad guy, but in the end the sword is taken. Instead, it's an act of self-sacrifice that destroys the villain and his sanctuary.

A-KO: Oh, sweetheart. Most new fairy tales are just old ones with a slant.
B-KO: Can you skip the other parts and only read the slant?
A-KO: Is that even allowed?...
B-KO: (Do you think we were too subtle?)
A-KO: (Your guess is as good as mine.)

Okay, I think I see how this one works. I have to commend the amount of work and mental gymnastics it must take to think these puzzles up.
So, clearly, the first one has nothing to do with Miki and everything to do with Alice in Wonderland.
Now to figure out the others...

(Three guesses so far are Disney movies, so PMMM doesn't fit...hmmm)

Well, if the theme is Disney movies, then the closest possibility for the last one would be The Sword in the Stone, unless we've got a better idea.
EDIT: Nix that. Looking at the plot synopsis, that's way off target.
EDIT AGAIN: Decided to read other plot synopses. It's gotta be The Black Cauldron.

I'm trying to imagine what might be needed to round these all together into one answer, considering the additional steps in Soul Swords, and hoping that I'm not overthinking this. What I've come up with:
Titles (obvously): Alice in Wonderland, Frozen, The Lion King, Mulan, Aladdin, The Black Cauldron
Original Authors: Lewis Carroll, Hans Christian Andersen, William Shakespeare (or Tezuka Osamu if you're feeling cynical), Guo Maoqian (though the original author's name is lost to time), Antoine Galland or Scheherazade (depending on which source you look at), and Lloyd Alexander
Original Title: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, The Snow Queen, Hamlet (or Kimba the White Lion), The Ballad of Hua Mulan, Aladdin (like Hell I'm spelling that out in Arabic; my keyboard wouldn't be able to handle it), The Chronicles of Prydain
The Subject (as gleaned from the description): Alice, Ella, Simba, Hua Mulan, Jafar, The King's Sword or the Horned King (that one feels open to interpretation)
So, in conclusion... I have no freakin' idea.

But you don't have to go that far. You have the titles -- five of them, anyway. The Shadow Girls may have more wisdom for you.
