What if Akio was a Princess?
I have been wondering for a while, but I feel like Utena's the type of person who would have fallen in love even if the Prince was a girl. What do you think? After all, the show also emphasizes that gender roles are meant to be broken.

Utena always struck me as bisexual, but I definitely think the interactions between Utena and Akio would be somewhat similar to any interaction with Sanjouin.

He would be Anthy.
More specifically, he wouldn't have had any place in the story about the idealized prince; a princess and a female prince are different things. That's one of the key themes here.
