Myers-Briggs Typology

So today my boss, always concerned with employee morale, tracked me down and assaulted me with this test. Between him, my mom, and a psychology teacher in highschool this is the third time I've taken it against my will and I figured I'd share the joy with IRG!

Actually, I started thinking about how much stock put in this thing because it's based on Jungian ideas (maybe) and he's the second most recogniseable name in psychology these days, and how weird it is that people who have complex and personal relationships with eachother like to supplement it with a dehydrated version of what they think of themselves. Then I thought of you guys.

Don't you worry. I don't put much stock in it myself.

Anyway, I supposedly lie somwhere between INTP and ISTP depending on which way the wind blows, I guess. I guess ISTP sounds more like me since I'm impulsive, but other than that it's got me pretty good. According to the internet it also makes me like the bastard child of Socates and Tom Cruise.

What does IRG think of this test? And since you're going to or already have taken it out of curiosity you might as well put your type too. ;D

Hinotori made this post, and then went back and changed it later. Such is life.

Re: Myers-Briggs Typology

Your Type is: ENFP

Extrovert=33
iNtuitive=50
Feeling=50
Perceiving=44

You are:

    * moderately expressed extrovert
    * moderately expressed intuitive personality
    * moderately expressed feeling personality
    * moderately expressed perceiving personality

According to the Keirsey site, home of the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, it says I'm a Champion Idealist.

- abstract in thought and speech
- cooperative in accomplishing their aims
- informative and expressive when relating with others

For Champions, nothing occurs which does not have some deep ethical significance, and this, coupled with their uncanny sense of the motivations of others, gives them a talent for seeing life as an exciting drama, pregnant with possibilities for both good and evil. This type is found in only about 3 percent of the general population, but they have great influence because of their extraordinary impact on others. Champions are inclined to go everywhere and look into everything that has to do with the advance of good and the retreat of evil in the world. They can't bear to miss out on what is going on around them; they must experience, first hand, all the significant social events that affect our lives. And then they are eager to relate the stories they've uncovered, hoping to disclose the "truth" of people and issues, and to advocate causes. This strong drive to unveil current events can make them tireless in conversing with others, like fountains that bubble and splash, spilling over their own words to get it all out.

Champions consider intense emotional experiences as being vital to a full life, although they can never quite shake the feeling that a part of themselves is split off, uninvolved in the experience. Thus, while they strive for emotional congruency, they often see themselves in some danger of losing touch with their real feelings, which Champions possess in a wide range and variety. In the same vein, Champions strive toward a kind of spontaneous personal authenticity, and this intention always to "be themselves" is usually communicated nonverbally to others, who find it quite attractive. All too often, however, Champions fall short in their efforts to be authentic, and they tend to heap coals of fire on themselves, berating themselves for the slightest self-conscious role-playing.

Edited to add long-ass analysis.

Re: Myers-Briggs Typology

I have a friend who is such a freak about Myers Briggs that she keeps the types of everyone she knows in her cell phone. She gave me a test that had 300 questions on it but it still came out with the same result (see below). She didn't tell me that I'm a "Mastermind Rational" though, what the heck? I always thought I was a big sap, but what do I know?

Your Type is INTJ = Mastermind Rational
Introverted    39%
Intuitive       50%
Thinking      25%
Judging           56%

Edit: One of those descriptions says that Ulysses S. Grant was an INTJ also. Hey, I'm distantly related to him! Generations ago, supposedly, my relatives tried to hide that fact because they were Southerners from Richmond, VA.

My profile type is: iStJ

Introverted: 44%
Sensing: 12%
Thinking: 62%
Judging: 11%

Qualitative analysis is:
  moderately expressed introvert
  slightly expressed sensing personality
  distinctively expressed thinking personality
  slightly expressed judging personality.

Essentially, I'm an Inspector Guardian.

school-eng101 Take note, though, that I am afflicted with Asperger's Syndrome, or (less eloquently put) a high-functioning autistic. This test does not take this into account. For example, we AS patients often refuse to accept changing or evolving circumstances, have sensory hypersensitivities and react poorly in social situations of many sorts. However, we do tend to be very intelligent. An even less eloquent (and, personally, highly offensive) way to put it is "the kid who can split the atom, but can't lace his shoes to save his life." school-eng101

So there you have it. I still like to instigate, however emot-biggrin

You know, for such an incredibly rare type, there would appear to be a lot of INTJs here...

SKU must bring them out.

After reading the descriptions, I am INTJ absolutely positively to a tee at work, but in my personal life I'd say I'm a little more laid back than the INTJ explanations would imply.

Edit: I could so use a few of you other INTJ's at work. None of my friends are INTJ's and I'm sure no one I work with on a regular basis is one either.

You have my pity. My list SUCKS except for Augustus Caesar. Seriously. (Donald Rumsfeld wtf wtf) Until you get to fictional characters. Then suddenly INTJ kicks a whole world of ass.

Gandalf the Grey (J. R. R. Tolkein's Middle Earth books)
Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs) school-chef
Professor Moriarty, Sherlock Holmes' nemesis school-sherlock
Clarice Starling (Silence of the Lambs)

Awww yeah. cool I'm totally both sides of my favorite character pairing.
