I bent a spoon.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c356/xjrcin/Picture202.jpg

I just bent a spoon today with my mind.  Notice how it's in spirals... I wrapped it around itself while I was concentrating.  Have you seen this before?  I was reading about it all day and decided to try it...

I'm crying in the picture because it was emotionally draining for me.  I thought about a lot of things...  has anyone else done this before?

Re: I bent a spoon.

I just did a lot of reading on it, and really, when you want to do it, you have to NOT want to do it... does that make sense?  The real goal of the "exercise" of bending spoons is not to bend a spoon, but to go into a state of "being-ness".  We all can bend spoons, we just forgot how.  I dunno, it's a little complicated, lol.

Re: I bent a spoon.

My research tells me that the goal is to use the power of very potent and strong thoughts to create kinetic energy (thus the word telekinetic, ne?) and to bend the spoon.  Hey, if Keanu Reeves and a small bald child with a bad accent could do it, so can I.

I'm afraid if I ever found out how to use telekinesis, I would be a bad person. Maybe I shouldn't try. emot-keke

Re: I bent a spoon.

It's a very positive experience, Yasha!  And it's not like I'm tossing objects around my room with my mind, lol.  You really get in touch with yourself this way.  I'm wanting to know what else I can do to further this knowledge and power, but so far it's just silverware...

Re: I bent a spoon.

Have you ever tried astral projection?  From what I've heard it's an absolutely wonderous experience where you separate from your own physical body.  Seeing as you bent that spoon, I imagine you'll have no trouble at all projecting successfully.  I, however, have yet to have a successful projection... emot-frown

Re: I bent a spoon.

I gave up on this stuff a long time ago when I found out that I had no free time anymore. My preferred way of getting in touch with myself belongs in IFD. emot-wink

But this does look interesting. If I could discipline myself to need about an hour less sleep a night... oh, who am I kidding? I'd find something else to do with it, and this isn't the kind of thing you can do slapdash. I already know that from previous efforts.

Re: I bent a spoon.

Oh, well that kind of getting in touch with yourself is a staple in my life. etc-loveetc-loveetc-love

Astral projection and other such things take different amounts of time, depending on what kind of person you are.  Stress is bad for it.  Therefor, it's impossible for me to EVER get even a smidgeon close to accomplishing anything.  T_T

HOLY SHIIIIZZZZZ!!!!

(And not the city in Oz . . . And not the Oz as in Australia . . . )

I have astral projected several times in dreams, and not of my own free will. You know, it is that feeling or dream where you are falling and looking at yourself from above and you suddenly wake. you that is astral projection.

I dunno, my one friend bends forks all the time.  She won't go near spoons.
She's an absolute danger when she's over at your house, especially when on the topic... bye bye every fork you've ever owned!

Alexandra, did you use the method where you touch the spoon lightly?

Yes, I just held it with both my hands, one on each end of it.  Then I just started wrapping it into spirals.  It was funny once I started doing it because I was so shocked that I was.

Re: I bent a spoon.

emot-aaa That's amazing.. how long did it take? I may have to try it some time.

I've tried astral projection before. Well, the first time, it wasn't intended, but I succeeded in going to see a faerie through a guided meditation, but I didn't realize until later that it was astral projection.. as for the other times, I've recently been trying it, and almost succeeding but not quite.

http://www.ecauldron.com/articles/archi … try_60.php - This website has nine good techniques on it. It's not like sending your whole "soul" or "astral body" out of your body, it's more like sending a part of your consciousness/soul/astral body out of your body and to other places. I was almost scared of the idea because I remember watching a show and in one episode there was a girl who astral projected, or had out of body experiences, and one time her body was in a trance state and her soul/astral body was out of it and the tree house her body was in started collapsing because it was old.. but it's really not like that. You can still be aware of your body.

I've tried the rope technique twice because I'm still trying to program myself to lucid dream. I got the vibrations and tingling in my body which I didn't expect, but as soon as I would get to the end of it, my eyes opened on their own.

Does the spoon-bending thing also apply to sporks?  And what about chopsticks?  I do wonder... I WANNA BEND A SPATULA!!!

Never bent a spoon, but I've astral projected by accident when I was 4.

Re: I bent a spoon.

I bent a fork to show they can get love too.  Or abuse, whichever way you look at it. emot-keke;  When I started bending it I actually looked at it while I bent it, which I didn't with the spoons.  It was like I was in a blank trance and just played and manipulated it.  It's rather interesting to see how different the thoughts involved are with each object.

Im not sure you can bend chopsticks as they tend to break when you bend them beyond a certain point, as for spatulas, I was able to bend mine by accident after I left it hanging over the edge of the wok for too long and the handle started to droop.
