Awww, heeheehee! I wish I had your mad skillzz. Ahem, well I'm not full-out loli, though I do have a few outfits. I think the style is incredibly gorgeous, and one I really wish I had the money to fully take on. Alas, cyber falls, bio-goggles, and glow sticks have set their place in my heart first and foremost. I don't know if I'll ever go back to my lolita-obsessed days, but I have fond memories.

That's nothing short of FOREVER ago. It's not a good picture, because you can't see my lacey gloves, or my stockings, or my unbearably painful shoes. The lighting makes it so you can't even see the cute bows in my hair But it's one of the only pictures I still have from back in those days. Like I said, I was never full-out, but I tried as hard as money would permit. *eyeballs the vast amount of pictures of Mana on the walls* If only...

Me too, me too!
I've been dressing lolita for a really long time now, around 5 years (going on 6 in July), though I've never really participated in the community.. not very many loli photos of me, but I'm working on it-- I'm saving up and setting aside money to help double the amount of clothes in my wardrobe to 40 pieces (yes I have a lot -_-), though I don't plan on getting that many brand name pieces in the future, or any more once I get a full closet.. so it should be okay. (I think ) Oh, and I'm a bargain predator, that's how I survive in this extremely expensive... fashion. 8D
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ … ndafin.jpg <--the oldest picture I have of me in lolita clothes.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/rinfin/btssb.jpg <-- Um, a blouse by Baby the Stars Shine Bright.
And here is my favorite...
Baby the Stars Shine Bright Cinderella skirt I spent over a year trying to find one and I got super lucky on Yahoo! Japan Auctions. IT IS MY BABY (no pun intended).
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ … ella_2.jpg <--closeup of the GORGEOUS print.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ … oom003.jpg <-- my wardrobe as of spring 2004. It's like, 3 times that size now.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ … s009_x.jpg <-- me being cuuute
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ … dward1.jpg <-- me being even more cutesy, with Edward the panda
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ … oom002.jpg <-- my wardrobe last summer (obviously it's not all lolita but...)
That's it for today. I have more, though!! I will post it later!

OH MY GOD. That picture of you running is so freaking adorable!!!!!
And I absolutely LOVE that dress. So pretty!

Lolita stuff is very pretty, but I must say, I prefer the more mature versions... I guess about a decade ago, you would have called it RomantiGoth.
Nowadays I don't know what it's called, just that it's a more Victorian style.
Offline
I myself use the term Loligoth. There's a subtle difference, but Lolita and Victorian are similar in many ways. I like aspects of both.
Offline
Oh, oh, on that note, I'll post more then. Because I have more mature-looking stuff, too. Problem is, I constantly trip over long dresses so it doesn't make me look elegant, more dumb than anything, really.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ … ke014x.jpg ME FONDLING THE ELEGANT GOTHIC FLOWERS
I dunno, it just doesn't seem right on me. I'm a little too silly for it, I guess. But it looks absolutely gorgeous on other people.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ … usloli.jpg
This is Englebert, the Elegant Gothic Ficus tree. I stopped a stranger and asked them to take a picture of me with the ficus tree. They probably thought I was some asylum escapee or something (isn't that what you'd think, seeing a girl with a bow eating her head, carrying a panda?), so they didn't ask any questions about it. Oh, and it was in a botanical garden, which makes it even stranger-- I was surrounded by exotic flowers and started squealing over the indoor plant people keep in their offices.
More cute
I don't even know if I should get into my whole prince attire thing... >.>

Whereas the clothes are pretty, the style really doesn't do anything for me. I dunno... Some people find it attractive and a turn-on; I don't. A part of me would say it's because it takes the wearer and , in general, makes them look a little too young for my tastes, but then again, Catholic school girls are rather yummy, so I guess that's not it. Meh. i don;t know. But if you like it - get down with all your pretty clothes!
Offline
I used to dress in ohji alot, but its considerably toned down now...
(allegoriest = cheap, poor and lazy)
I like the older looking styles better... like angelic said, it does make them a bit young for my tastes.
Offline
i think only some look young..not all... like Sweet lolita, some white lolita, country lolita and hime lolitas all look kinda....young..
plus if you wear it in pigtails.
it seems a definate thing for the lolita wear-er..to not have a chest...they suggest tapeing it down... and what i say to that....
STFU!! i like my chest! its not my fault i have one! lol

UWAAA LOLI SAFARI
I've never actually tried to draw gothic lolita. I should give it a shot.

i bet it would look awesome!

I'm a big fan of the gothic lolita style but I don't wear it because:
*There isn't a place to get clothes like that here in Mexico
*I don't know how to sew.
*The climate in my hometown is like hell, I would just sweat all those pretty clothes and look everything but glamorous. And here in Mexico city are quite impractical for the subway.
*I would just look like a darkness burned sausage -.- or just plain weird because I am not petitte and cute, I am big... in all senses.
But I like to think of myself as a lolita at heart.

Other lolita-related goodness would have to be... Novala Takemoto. He's just great. His essays are really interesting, too.

Even if you're not into the whole "lolita girls revolution" kind of thing, it's still pretty neat. And funny, too.

I Love This Style!
I am assuming all of you have watched the movie " Kamikaze Girls"? That's why I know of the boutique "Baby the Stars Shine Bright" but I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS A REAL BRAND!!! Awesome!
Yes, please...all of you well-informed, well-dressed Loli-girls, please keep sending the links to read more, and learn more, because I find this subculture fascinating. My relative just got back from a language school in Tokyo and she said that no matter how HOT (temperature wise) it gets in Japan, they still wear these outfits, and there are certain special districts where they hang out. Amazing! I cannot wait to visit Japan and see for myself.
Wow! I could never wear these things myself in public and feel comfortable, unless it was like a Halloween or costume ball (cause I'm getting kinda old -25- gotta conform a little, sadly)...but I THINK THESE CLOTHES ARE BEAUTIFUL!
So, I spoke about how there are "sections" in Japan (I heard) where people tend to wear these clothing styles, what about wherever you guys are located. Like Teapot, where you live, do you just wear these clothes where ever you go, or are their conventions? And if you do wear them in general public, how do people react?
I know how I would react! "Hey miss! Your outfit is so cool, can I please take your photo?"

Great, thanks folks, you reminded me once again of my desire for Goth Lolita clothes
When I think on it, I could probably make a really good Goth Lolita... or just a Lolita in general - I look literally about five years younger than I am.
Argh, now I'm gonna find myself trolling ebay auctions when I should be saving my money for school
