This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Happy Birthday, Kaelyndra.
I did promise you a song.
I'm sorry if my key is awful. The song never fails to move me.
Here's the lyrics:
The first time I loved forever
Was when you whispered my name
And I knew at once you loved me
For the me of who I am
The first time I loved forever
I cast all else aside
And I bid my heart to follow
Be there no more need to hide
And if wishes and dreams are merely for children
And if love's a tale for fools
I'll live the dream with you
For all my life and forever
Is the truth I will always know
when my world divides and shutters
your love is where I'll go
The original song is by Lisa Angelie: it has one of my favourite poems "somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond" by E. E. Cummings.
Enjoy your special day. *hugs*

I don't think your key could be anymore beautiful.
There was so much sorrow in your voice, but it still had that distinctly happy vibe to it. I really wish I could have been there to hear that personally. It was really, really, really, really well done. It is such a beautiful song, and you did it great emotion and justice if my opinion is of meaning.
Thank you so much, Seitokaichou. I didn't know how my birthday could get any better, but that surely did it. I'm hoping you're enjoying your trip, since I know you're on it right now.

I'm very happy you liked it. As always, the thought came from the heart.
Now... where's my thank you and welcome back kisses? *grins*

My voice, as I've been told, is more like a jazz singers from back in the day. I dare not compare myself to Nina or Etta or any of the greats....but maybe if it was 1930 or so, I could play at a local bar.
I think I have about a 2 octave range, too.
I've hit the high C note only twice, though.
But, this could all be a lie, as I've never really heard myself sing, so, maybe people were just being nice to me.

@ Madam Cheezy: Um...recording please? I'd love to hear your voice! Especially if it can be compared to the greats of jazz
Here's another recording of me, playing Hurt by Johnny Cash. I'm actually attempting to teach myself guitar right now, so that I can continue making music in college.

My voice is a lovely atonal monstrosity that is connected with a poor musical ear and thus should not be allowed to sing.
Me too. I come from a long line of people with no pitch control. My mother was told to "mouth the words" in high school choir. And I'm not any better than she is. Our aunt had us start over halfway through "Happy Birthday" at our last family gathering because me and Mom had poisoned the tune of the whole group and people got lost. It's bad news.
Though, I might be able to get by in some genres. I could probably do bluegrass pretty well.

Did this one last night, not the top quality, but I'll improve the next time

Lyrics:

Chris/Mister B, you sound like somebody I know. I know that's kind of a stupid thing to say, but I just can't put my finger on it and it's puzzling me. You don't know me in person, right? Lovely song, I should say as well. I like your voice in combo with the female voice.
I spent today trying to get The Blow's "True Affection" out of my head and ended up making a very bad cover of it instead. I've tried doing this sort of thing with other songs, but so far only this one has really lent itself to it. Er, though still not greatly. ...And blowing into the (not exactly a real) microphone constantly aside. Voila! For anyone who hasn't heard the original or anything else of The Blow's, look them up on GrooveShark. Specifically, the album "Paper Television" and earlier.

I sang a cover or Unlimited Sky by Tommy Heavenly6. (You have to download the file because it's wav DX)

Tell me what you think of it!

I don't know the original song, but I like this. Your voice has depths to it that I greatly envy and just sort of an honest quality, I guess.

Haha I get that a lot, like a lot a lot. Thank you for the kind words!
You have some great vocals by the way it's like a sweeter softer Norah Jones actually. I was impressed!

New karaoke by me. Was originally a duet so I tried my best to get rid of the male vocals but they show up every now and then but most of the male singing is by me.
