First time I visited Cambridge (UK) I was all "OMG, it's Ohtori!!".

I just saw a poptarts commercial, where houses popped up, built out of poptarts, and frosted themselves.

All I could think of was OH GOD THEY'RE GONNA CATCH ON FIRE AND BLAME THE KIDS AND ITS ALL MIKAGE'S FAULT

The first two episodes of torchwood the morgue looked just like the nemuro memorial hall and the fan-service oh god the fan-service burns. Why have the girls kissing were they that desperate for ratings???!!!??

I was putting some old school books away and had one from a 20th Century British Lit course from a year ago and on deliberate whim opened it at random, landing on an excerpt from 'A Room of One's Own' by Virginia Woolf.  She had quoted an excerpt of a poem from Alfred Tennyson, just a few lines:

From Woolf: page 12

"And here I found Tennyson singing:

There has fallen a splendid tear
    From the passion-flower at the gate.
She is coming, my dove, my dear;
    She is coming, my life, my fate;
The red rose cries, "She is near, she is near;"
    And the white rose weeps, "She is late;"

The whole poem brings a lot of SKU imagery to mind it is the second one of this set of selections.

I think the fact that it was found from Woolf and that it is from Room of One's Own is enough to make me think of SKU in regards to sex and gender and what a girl is, isn't, can and can't do, according to old norms.

I ate strawberry and rose flavored ice cream yesterday. It was...odd. I wasn't aware that rose could be made an ice cream flavor but it reminded me a bit of that rose jam Akio makes in one episode. If there was ice cream stocked at Ohtori, it would probably be rose flavor.

today I've seen a play. a monologue. one scene had some shadows and the girl played various characters with different voices and postures... Kashira, kashira? Gozonji kashira?

I just saw this visual connection now (intentional or not, I was like, huh?)

I'm never going to listen to Imagine the same way ever again.   Scratch that.  I'll never think of John Lennon ever the same way again.  I need Brain Bleach to stop these mental images of Mikage singing Imagine, though, as well as to stop images of Lennon burning down buildings with people inside.  It's so horrible. :buries face in hands:  Why, Mr. Lennon?  You were such a gentle soul.

Why must SKU invade everything I come across?

Browsing Hoyt's out of utter loss of how to spend a late night.  Came upon this quote:

Totally made me think of Utena entering the forest arena and ascending the heavens to the dueling arena under eternity's own 'heavenly palace.'

Many of the other listed quotes put SKU's concept of eternity into perspective, resurrecting and immortalizing the past in the present and future.

...I started an amv to Eleanor Rigby. But I was being such a perfectionistic asshole that I was spending UNGODLY amounts of time on each SECOND. So yeah, I didn't finish due to getting really bored with it.
