This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Most of these are actually old. I found a CD of photos I did for a digital photography course I took a ways back.
The first is a shot I took of a little show I went to in Japan. It was the story of Benkei:
My friend's cat Caesar with a nice slow shutter:
Japan again. Kegon falls near Nikko. What you hopefully can't tell is that I made that from two other photos.
I used this one for my contrast shot. Just some silliness.
A tree in my parking lot. With some artsy effects
Me.
And this one I took today. Living in a place with such a difficult climate has its drawbacks, but there are compensations.

Damn, everyone lives in/visits such pretty places... Maybe I'll eventually get some photos of New Orleans, so I can pollute the thread with dreary colors.
For now, a shot of the Statue of Liberty... in its home... in Odaiba, Tokyo! >P Really, can't I just post photos from my trip to Japan instead? So much prettier.

I saw this a few weeks ago and I'd never seen clouds do that before. It's like a prizm...or mini-rainbow....or something.
And this is about two blocks from where I work. I thought it was cute.

...I like this mini-rainbow thing.

This is my front yard. The black thing laying there is my dog. Her name is Ebony. *waves to her*

Superultranecro. And it's graphic-heavy!
So on my walk today on our property with Grandpa and Guinevere, I decided to take some pictures. I think these turned out relatively well. We went across the Dead Field and to Maser Pond and back. Here's what I got:
I do think where I live is awfully pretty. I don't want my grandparents to sell their house, because this is such a lovely place to come back to.
[Also -- Stormy! Have you ever thought about being a professional photographer? Yours are so much better than mine are, and I'm going to college for journalism/photojournalism. ;___;]

I don't live here, but here's some landscape of places I wish I lived.
It's an inhabitant of Florida! This was the first thing I saw when I stepped out of the Fort Lauderdale airport. When I came back to the airport a week later, I read a newspaper that said that there said a boy had been killed just because he was gay within the week that I was gone.
This was taken in the middle of the ocean somewhere near cuba. It was 90 degrees out, and I was in a hot tub (with an incredibly cute polish girl who didn't speak much English,) listening to tropical music, while people around me were swimming, dancing, and enjoying smoothies. All this is the middle of February. I didn't think that I could hate the cold weather in New Hampshire anymore than I already did, but I was wrong. I want to do that Blue's Clues thing where they jump into the picture and be warm.
Those are made out of chocolate. Why? "Because we can."
My Spanish teacher and World History teacher were in Cozumel, Mexico the same day I was. If I had decided to waste the money on swimming with the dolphins, I would have run into them. ISN'T THAT SCARY? O_O My Spanish teacher decided to go on a school trip to Mexico at the last minute, and it was the same day I went! I even saw a person who looked a lot like her, though I couldn't be sure because I had forgotten to put my contacts in. (One of many downsides of this trip.)
You know you're in a tourist trap, when...^
I swam in the Caribbean ocean, but I did not enjoy myself. I was too busy trying to remember if anything in the Caribbean ocean could kill me.
This parrot was at the beach I went to. It was walking around and biting the employee's shoes.
This is Hell, located next to Grand Cayman. Isn't it nice? I want to live there so much.
A chicken was walking around in Grand Cayman! I loves chickens.
My beloved turtle, Jacob/Isreal. He was the father of 80 children who built the foundation of the Cayman Islands. (Not really.)
I'm just glad that I finally got to travel a bit before I turn 18. In June, I'll be going to Denver for a day, and then over to Montana. I'll be sure to take pictures of Yellowstone Nation Park when I go.

Necro'd! Going through my camera files, I rediscovered my love for my backyard. The pictures don't do it justice, especially when you're sitting in the sunlight on the top of the world with the wind in your face and no bugs to be seen, but I still feel like spammin' 'em.
The hills at sunset:
And here's winter:
Looking at the front yard with a Japanese paper fish I made ages ago:
Summer again! The beginning of our gardens.
And in this one you can just see my house in the background, but not for the true paint-pealing beauty that she/he/it is.
I just heard coyotes. Proof that it is indeed the best time of year!

I want your backyard!
Suburbia is nice and all, but I like wide open spaces and fields and things like that. That's probably why I'd like to move to Vermont someday, and also why I want to visit Hokkaido.

Wow, I had almost forgot how gorgeous New England can look. Then again, I do not envy anyone who would have to shovel all that snow!

I was looking for this thread the other day. Here's a mess of photos for you guys, stretching back to... March I believe. Please forgive the lower quality, I'm usually more into taking lots of photos than of taking really good ones. I'm getting over that.
I adore foggy days. There are 16 'foggy trees' shots in my Scenery section of my Photobucket. This particular shot and several of the ones to follow are up from Lady Nilamarthiel's neck of the woods. Little town named Frankfort, about an hour away from Traverse City... and I'm kicking myself. If I'd have been thinking, I'd so have arranged to meet you.
Have more awesome foggy trees.
Yes, I like trees. At least this one has falling snow instead of fog.
Interesting sunset effects, and you can see the snow is starting to melt.
Back home in Grand Rapids, I took this shot of a building being constructed. The lights are awesome, but I had a heck of a time keeping the camera steady. This is the best of them.
I'm honestly not sure where in Michigan this is, but the shot is too awesome not to share.
ROAD TRIP! I took a bus to Denver, CO at the end of April, and I went through St. Louis late at night. This is me trying to take a shot of the Arch while half asleep.
Proof positive that even pancakes have more lumps than Kansas. (Sorry Stormcrow & Dematrah. Kansas is just so... oppressive. I think it was the clouds.)
My first day in CO, I took a shot of the mountains off the apartment balcony. Yes, I still like trees.
Nighttime off the same balcony. That's what I see when I stand outside and stare into the night.
My god. In all my life, I have never seen the sun interact so beautifully with the clouds as it does here.
There will be more pictures as I come up with pretties. I love taking pictures of scenery. Especially trees.

NajiMinkin, your yard is gorgeous! I'm so jealous...
Here's pictures from my trip to Costa Rica (they're huge):
On the rocks.
Flying over the Country.
People at the beach.
A sunset.

Your backyard is beautiful, NajiMinkin! It makes me want to organize a protest again the people cutting down trees in my already practically non-existent backyard.
All of you are such skilled photographers! Your pictures each look like a work of art.
I took some pictures on my trip to Montana about a month ago, but the dead batteries in my camera prevented me from uploading them sooner. The first few pictures were actually taken in Denver, Colorado. We spent the night there in order to transfer planes. I didn't have much time to spend at the zoo, so these pictures are rather rushed. What really disappoints me is that I forgot to dig a six inch hole somewhere in "the state of Denver" in order to confirm this article. (Reference to The Simpsons.)
"Good thing I've caught a cold. I was thinkin' an outing's a drag. Why should someone my age have to go to a zoo? Besides, the animals don't seem willing. To begin with, that zoo doesn't have great animals, ya know..."
"Peacocks..."
"Wolves..."
"Deer..."
"Baby goats..."
"Giraffes..."
"They've got to be kiddin'! Can't they show any stuff like Dippin' Dots stalls?"
(Disclaimer: I love the zoo. I'm just quoting the shadow girls because I can.)
Meanwhile, in Montana...
Montana actually looks a lot like Northern New Hampshire. Of all the places I've traveled this year, Denver had the most unusual terrain compared to what I'm used to. I'm used to bumpy areas without any actual mountains, areas that are completely surrounded by mountains, and places that are completely flat. On the other hand, a treeless, desert-like area that's totally flat with the exception of mountains you could see very far off, was completely new to me.
I think that this was taken near where my brother lives.
Ever since I was a kid, there's always been something about hiking that makes me want to do something incredibly dangerous, like finding a way to cross a raging river, or going off the trail to climb a cliff. Just thinking about it makes me want to go hiking.
Yellow Stone Nation Park kind of looks like Hell, only with pretty animals instead of eternal damnation.
My camera does not do this hot spring justice. I wish that it was just a hundred degrees cooler so I could go swimming in it...
Nanamis!
Bison!
More deer!

It's such a gorgeous and underrated part of our country. Urban living has nothing on this.

The second pic was taken around 8:00 in the late spring. I don't remember the exact timing. And I would say the same to you, hayama, but I can only see the first gorgeous pic of Montana. Beautiful state, though. dlaire, you have made me very happy with those pics of Poland. What a lovely place. I plan on traveling there eventually. There's handsome Polish philosopher waiting for me. Now if I could only figure out the addresses there...

Stunning photos! May I have the permission to render photos #1 and #2 in acryllic? *smiles* I will have it posted on my DeviantART, if it's all right (will credit and dedicate them to you). No? It's all right. No harm done. *winks* I was simply captivated. I love dramatic landscapes.

Shinjuku Imperial Gardens ( Shinjyuku Gyoen ) in Tokyo, near my folks' place last April 11.
Cherry blossoms can be appreciated for about a month; it marks the beginning of spring. Cherry blossoms that bloom are called "Yaezakura"; one flower consists of eight petals.
Photographs were taken and sent by my Uncle via e-mail.

Wow. This is amazing.
Now that I think of it, it would ne great to cosplay two characters in this setting; an added wind would be spectacular for effect...
One, Kuchiki Byakuya.
Two, Hikaru Genji. *grins*

Asfalolh: Thank you, and thank you for sharing yours. *smiles* I especially adore the first photo; I love how you captured it. The rose in the second photo reminds me of my grandmother's rose garden.
FencingCaptain: Funny that you mentioned both of them; I was thinking of the same thing. *chuckles* Great minds go together. *grins* And yes, Genji-sama is love to the 10th power.

There are various events whenever a season changes in Japan. This is one of the local festivals which took place on the third Sunday of May; this is the festival of the Flower Garden Shrine ( Hanazono Jinjya ).
The sacred transfer of a portable shrine from its place of enshrinement. ( Omikoshi Togyo )
Flower Hat Procession ( Hanagasa Touchuu )
