This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)

More Ruka/Shiori/Juri!
And I'd also like to see where/how Anthy would be reunited with Utena.
I want also:
* Miki/Kozue relationship.
* all scenes from Akio/Utena dates
* more sex and violence!
* Shadow Girls' faces

This is more from the movie, but, I'd REALLY like to see that scene from the end of the Adolescence manga when Utena and Anthy are in the Observatory. So cute ;_;
And MOAR FUCKING AKIO SEX. I mean, there's so much sex in the entire series involving Akio they should show us just a little, no?

I've always figured Chu Chu was Anthy's familiar. Kind of like how stereotypical witches have black cats as familiars?
Wikipedia on Familiars: "In early modern English superstition, a familiar spirit, imp, or familiar (from Middle English familiar, related to family) is an animal-shaped spirit who serves a witch, demon, or other magician. Familiars were imagined to serve their owners as domestic servants, farmhands, spies, and companions, in addition to helping bewitch enemies."
Well, Chu Chu does freak Nanami out with the whole Egg episode. Makes sense to me!

I'd've liked to have seen the duellists duel between themselves. Not just as in Touga and Saionji in kendo, Miki and Juri and then Juri and Ruka in fencing, but I mean as in in the duelling arena over the Rose Bride. I'd've especially liked to have seen some of the Black Roses duel between themselves, like Shiori and Kozue or Nanami and Keiko

Nanami and Keiko would have been the best duel ever.
I would say Kozue and Shiori would be, but that wouldn't be so much a duel as it would be clanging swords for about a minute, then hot sex. [In my mind. Let me dream.] I would've liked to see that, though.

Of course. Rule 3 in its finest.
Rule 3 of Anime: Rampant lesbianism needs no excuse.

I thought of another one- I wish we could've seen some of the previous duelling rounds- did any one else ever reach the Duel named Revolution, or was Utena the first? Has there always been a counterpart to Mikage available to help strengthen the champion?
More importantly, did Akio still take them off to see the Ends of the World before hand? I can't imagine the Akio Cart having the same impact.

Deleted scenes wishlist?
wooo, a supremely hentai sex scene between touga and utena.
That's a dream come true.
But I liked how CS included one in the movie manga, I am satisfied...
Believe it or not guys, I really enjoyed the whole series and don't wanna see much more.

I totally agree on that one!
Speaking of duels, Shiori vs Juri would be interesting either, though - I think I already mentioned this on another thread a couple of months ago, but, well... Leaving an hypothetical duel in the arena with Shiori as a BR Duelist aside, they'd get to cross swords some time or other during practice at the Fencing Club!
Also, I would have liked to see how Anthy got to hold hands with Utena by night during episode 23: that scene still mystifies me somehow...

More on Mikage. I'd especially like to see what happened after Mamiya/Anthy pricks his/her finger on a black rose thorn and Mikage, being the nice boy he is, sucks the blood out of the cut. Now *that* I would truly pay to see. I would also like to see him interact with the rest of the cast. Nanami seems to be content to talking to him, at first glance I'd assume that Mikage would not really interest her much (after all, he's not Touga). And I admit that Mikage x Akio would rock my socks.
Also, it would be very nice to see more of Nanami and Touga's past as children. And it would be wonderful to actually see Shiori and Juri before tragedy struck. I got the feeling that for a while there was some sort of tense harmony between the two of them (mayhap because the nameless boy served as an equalizer of sorts) and it would be wonderful to witness it. Same goes for Miki and Kozue.
I would like to see the duelists' reaction to first seeing the arena. We get to see them talk about it but I would like to actually see it. And I would like to know how they behaved until Utena came along.

Who would be their Rose Brides? Or would the duel be Seitokai Arc style with just Touga standing at the side of the arena bespectacled and dressed in red? (Insert your own joke here about them fighting over who gets to pull Touga's sword.) Now that I've said that, during Nanami's Seitokai Arc duel, Touga was actually standing in the arena watching the duel like Anthy does...

I think Nanami can be attracted to other people, despite her obsession with her oniisama. She fancies Miki enough to be jealous about his fixation on Anthy, and she has some attraction to Akio as well. Of course, it could just be that Miki and Mikage with their genius and good looks remind her of her brother's glamour of specialness, and Akio's behaviour in episodes 31 and 32 reminds her of the kindness Touga used to show her in her childhood photos.
Deleted scenes...
More of Nanami and Saionji in the same scene together. They were cute in episode 27. (Am I the only one that cracks up when Saionji says 'It's a nice moonlit night so I'm camping out' while wearing that frilly apron?)
Actually, one of my favourite fanfics contains exactly that: Alan Harnum's Fugue, though you've probably all read it already.
The music room 'date' between Kozue and Touga. Or just more Kozue in general.
More of Juri duelling. She's pretty awesome in the arena.

I agree that Nanami can be attracted to other people, I also think she wants to be wanted. To that end she returns some interest to those that show it to her, and antagonizes those who threaten it. Miki and Mikage are both geniuses, if they like Nanami it 'proves' she must be desirable. And ultimately, while no one can surpass Touga in her heart, Nanami doesn't look to him as an alternative to a husband; she likely plans to marry someday, as the successful woman she will become.

I guess Nanami somehow looks up to Juri as well, and at least cares about what Juri thinks of her...
Remember her reactions when she walked into Juri while blabbering about her beloved egg?
And how envious she is of the fact that Juri is more elegant and refined than herself? That's one of the things that drive her to parade around withe the cowbell hanging from her neck, after all...
Is that just sheer jealousy of Juri's many talents? I think she might just as well take her as a model to follow, even without admitting it...

Well... I guess if circumstances had been different and Nanami had been adopted as a child into the Arisugawa family instead of the Kiryuu, then Nanami might have grown up with an Oneesama complex.

Oooh! Naughty!
I personally wanted to see more on Utena's friend in Houou-shi and her aunt and future step-uncle. When did she meet the friend? Does Juri kind of remind Utena of that friend? Or did she forget the boy who admitted he was madly in love with her RIGHT before she went to Ohtori? (On another note-He also helped her get in... so why did Akio not take advantage of that boy? Did he simply want to cut all her ties to the outside? Probably.)
Offline
Aw, I'd forgotten about the pre-Ohtori manga characters.
Utena's friend seemed very Tatsuya-ly, pure and protective. He'd probably interfere with Akio's plans and just wouldn't generally fit in at Ohtori. Unless he got a terminal illness and decided to sabotage Anthy, of course.

A direct addressing of the state of Saionji's sexual development. I mean, I joke about him being a virgin because it's true, but why? He has his own fangirl army, even more impressive than Touga's for how he doesn't encourage his much at all. He could be neck-deep in horny women (or men), but nooo.
So basically I'm saying there should have been a masturbation scene in the series.
I mean other than uh...all of the scenes involving Akio.
Offline
I'd think that Touga showing up would only improve Saionji's sex life.
Offline
For a second there I thought you were suggesting Saionji tries to bang people in the kendo room.
....I had a nice fantasy going there before you guys screwed it up.

This is Akio, after all.
Why does one assume Akio is the seducer in this case? He seemed to be pretty submissive with her. Perhaps she seduced him, possibly at quite a young age, like when he was a student at Tsuwabuki's age? Perhaps her role is more than what is hinted at? Maybe Anthy was trying to protect her brother from her and all hell broke loose causing the swords of hate and all that? Maybe Mrs. Ohtori is more than just a foil for Akio's lust?
