Next Month on the 9th of June...
... I proclaim In the Rose Garden Day!
While IRG's birthday is a day to be celebrated on it's own, the glory of IRG deserves a birthday celebration, as well as a separate holiday dedicated to what makes it so great! I declare 6-9-09 to be the first of many celebrations. The hearts of IRGers across the world shall celebrate a day of anime, art, analysis, fanfiction, Freud, friendship, Giovanna, Pop-tarts, roleplaying, roses, Satyreyes, sex, symbolism, Utena, Yasha, and much more! Including Shiori!
Let the upcoming celebration be a day of contribution, pop-tart consumption, Utena rewatches, and appreciation of this lovely forum.

IRG's birthday, IIRC, is in October, but it can be like Jesus. Birthdate symbolic.

It depends on what time you want to catch people I suppose Sharnii...Here in Central US is GMT -6, for a net difference of 16 hours. In other words, when it's 10pm for you, it's 6 in the morning for me. NRG and the rest of our European folks are at more like GMT +1 though, so for them it's 1pm when it's 10pm for you.

In Arizona, I'm GMT ±Weird, because DST doesn't apply to us. When it's fall and winter, I share my time with Mountain Time (GMT -7). When it's spring and summer, it will be Pacific Time (GMT -8). Right now it's Pacific Time, so that means when it's 22:00 for you, it's 04:00 for me (10pm and 4am respectively).
Which means trying to communicate with any Australian vIRGin when both parties are coherent is as futile as trying to get a cup of vegetable oil to sink in a bowl of water.

Stormy, thank you for explaining the maths to me, I appreciate. Hmm I guess that means I should do a late night chat and see how long I can stay up before I start denouncing certain SKU pairings and offending their shippers. Not that I would ever ever do such a thing.

That's a cool idea, but sounds like a pain to set up and judge. Maybe we can have a do-it-yourself scavenger hunt: we each hunt down (and repost to this thread) other people's posts that we personally found especially bizarre, meaningful, hilarious, or otherwise IRG-embodying. That way the "entries" will make for good reading -- nostalgia for some of us, novelty for others -- and celebrate the forum.
