Shoujo Ai Heavens Forum- In Memoriam
Anybody remember the Shoujo Ai Heavens?
I was a member of the Heavens for a while, but then it closed down & I was absolutely devastated. That forum was so nice. There was free shoujo-ai, there were nice people, there was Clara, & it was such a lovely forum to be on. I miss it terribly... truely I do...
So anybody remember that forum?
For those of you who don't know what the Heavens were:
The Heavens was a forum dedicated to love between women. Whether you yourself were a woman who loved other women, or a guy who likes yuri... you belonged there. The community was wonderful & full of kind people who were always willing to help you out. There was also a huge archive of shou-ai & hentai on the forums. It was closed down last year because somebody hacked into it & brought the forums down, & eventually Rei (technilogical extraordinaire of the Heavens) couldn't take the building and rebuilding of the forums, so she abandoned the entire thing & now the Heavens are merely a barren webpage.
My username on the Heavens was Sayoko.

I wasn't a part of the forum but it's always a sad thing to see a good one disappear.
I went by Mr. X on the shoujoai.com forums a long time ago... but that didn't seem to be much of a community, more of a "zomg porn!!!!11!!one!" kind of place outside of the fanfiction/anime discussion boards.
Pride is not the opposite of shame, but its source.

I was a pretty active member for a while. (moreso on another shoujo ai forum) under Constellation Prize. I remember the being slightly driven away by all the drama.
I was kind of sad when I was looking up shoujo-ai the other day and I saw it was gone.
Hinotori made this post, and then went back and changed it later. Such is life.

Oh god, there was drama!
So many fights between mods... it was sad. Especially how Clara, the founder of the Heavens, didn't want anyone to fight.

I really hope there isn't going to be any drama on this forum. If there is, I'm totally kicking people's asses, cause this place is supposed to be friendly.

Most of their drama was administrative anyway, and you two seem pretty cool. ;D
Word of advice: If any of you decide to drop out of the intertubes scene for a year or so your best bet isn't to put some stooge with borderline personality disorder in charge. D: From what I understand half the issue was that the new admin couldn't handle the board and freaked out.

We're not going anywhere, I promise. 
That said, you guys have done an absolutely awesome job not needing any moderation. Really we have a very awesome crowd on here. And that's from someone that hates internet drama. There's plenty of drama in the series, we don't need any on the forum!

Been there, done that. 
Originally this forum was going to be phpBB, complete with all fancy bells and whistles. Three days before I was going to launch it, about two and a half months after tediously coding the template and mods, we got Trojans right up the ass. From what I understand now, this wasn't our fault, the whole server got invaded. We moved hosts and I decided, just to be safe, to go with the most airtight forum available, punBB. It's a severely slimmed down program, half the crap you guys use I had to manually mod in myself; PMs, the convenient smilie and formatting buttons, stuff in your profiles...man that was hellish.
That doesn't really have anything to do with anything, but I'm just saying hackers suck, and I've done everything I possibly could to keep that off these forums.
As for blackmail and drama...boo! That said, we're all rather slackjawed about sex around here, especially in IFD, but I don't think that's us throwing out blackmail material so much as finding a place mature enough to discuss sex without worrying about stupid crap Yasha and I would go on ban parties for. I hate drama. Especially drama born from intolerance. I can't tolerate intolerance!

I like drama, but only if I'm in control of it, and only if I can see someone's expression when they get hit with a truckload of drama. My corner of the internet should be safe and drama-free.
That said, intolerance makes me feel like using someone's head as a yoyo. I'm not prepared to put any effort forth to understand someone's point of view if they refuse to understand mine. Educate, explain, and persuade, sure-- I'll talk all day about why it's wrong to be a misogynist, or a racist, or a homophobe... but if people expect me to go out of my way to cater to their mental retardation, I don't think so.
