This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
This is an insanely random question I wanted to ask, mainly because I'm still working on the Valentine's Day backstock of Russel Stover's. What flavor or flavors do you absolutely hate accidentally picking out of a chocolate box, provided you don't have a map or just like picking at random?
For me: Molassass chew and coconut.

Coconut, or really hard caramel, or that awful foam that tastes kinda like strawberry but mostly like urinal cakes. I don't eat chocolates out of boxes, because I don't trust them.

Anything with coconut. The second I bite into something with coconut, I start spitting and jumping aound and making an awful face. I despise coconut.
Conversely, I adore finding the ultra rare lemon filled white chocolate. Mmmmmmmmmmmm...mouthgasm.
Edit: Urinal cakes, dollface? Interesting...

Ooh, Tamago, I'll take your coffee ones.

I'm snatching the liqueurs.

I was trying to find a type of chocolate that I liked in a box of chocolates on Valentine's Day. After I accidentally bit into two coconuts, I gave up and threw out the whole box. I despise coconut, and I don't like much chocolate in general.

Okay, coconut is officially the Chocolate Antichrist.

Nice to know I can count on you two to eat the chocolates I hate. Just leave me the praline, soft caramel, truffle and orange centres.
As for coconut, I can understand as a center its not so great (like Bounty for instance) but there are chocolates that have some coconut in it that I like, Cherry Ripe and Coconut Rough come to mind.

SHE'S A WITCH WE MUST BURN HER!!!
(I forgot about orange centres. Yes. Those, too.)
Tamago, Cherry Ripe sounds delicious, but I've never heard of it. What brand is it?

Absolutely none with peanut butter, or nut tracings, or that is in the nut family. I'm allergic. Like so many others I don't like coconut. I don't like the ones with the oozing cherry center. It's just messy. I just stick with chocolate truffles most of the time, because I know they are mostly the same. I think there is one box of chocolate with the position of the candy on the back of the box and it said what kind it was and what it looked like. That way a person could avoid the ones he or she didn't like to eat.

I DISPISE MINT!!! *murders mint*

Cadbury's Cherry Ripe = Ripe cherries and moist coconut smothered in rich 'Old Gold' Dark Chocolate.
As for mint flavoured chocolate, I do like the Mint Slice, a dark chocolate biscuit with a sliver of mint cream in the centre.

I don't much like assorted chocolates anymore, so pretty much everything except for the nuts and the coconuts (yeah, I'm a pariah) can go. I like those ever-elusive dark chocolate assortments, especially if they're nut assortments. I have yet to find a box that properly meets my exacting standards, though Hershey's Pot of Gold nut assortment comes close (too much milk chocolate, though).

Maple. I can't stand maples at all. Icky, icky, icky!

I only like certain kind of chocolate, and I don't like assorted ones at all because I don't like any sweet fillings inside (caramel, toffee, maple, cherry/strawberry/orange syrup/etc) and I don't like coffee or liquor or mint either. It sounds like I'm hard to please, but I like the simple ones, like plain old milk chocolate or white chocolate with nothing inside, or truffle (which is basically chocolate inside chocolate), and I can take any nuts inside or rice crispy/waffer/air bubbles inside. I really only enjoy the chocolate part, nothing extra added.
My favourite brands are Cadbury and Lindt.

It apparently is the most common sovenier from Canada, but I'll pass that. I hate maple syrup in the first place.
Ah that explains it, a bit like how chocolate coated Macadamia nuts are common over here in Oz but not so easy to get a hold of elsewhere.

I like the maple centeres once in a while (they're too rich for very often), but I LOVE the ones with macadamia nuts. Mmmmm.... One of the girls from Hawaii brought us macadamia kisses. So yummeh.

Lindt is my favorite brand.
I like bitter chocolate (about 60% will do), liquor ones (I wonder can I get drunk by eating lots of it), mint flavored (my favorite!!). Also, you can count on me if you do not like white chocolate.
I hate nuts, coconut, or soft fillings like cherry or sultana.
