This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Duel Chorus
Just like the white-winged dove,
Graceful swans of never topple to the earth.
I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way –
Only words can help me find you.
There were copper-bottom tympani in horse platoons, thundering, thundering, all along the way,
Hard as a rock from when she touched me.
You just slip out the back, Jack; make a new plan, Stan; you don't need to be coy, Roy, just listen to me,
So I cross my heart and I hope to die.
Take a deep breath as you walk through the doors:
Your eyes are the size of the moon,
So we kicked them in the balls and then they cried,
On our way back home.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
UTENA: I don't really listen to a lot of music...
ANTHY: There are twelve lyrics here and twelve spaces, Miss Utena. Perhaps we're to use one letter from each lyric?
UTENA: But how do we figure out which letter? Thinking about it makes my brain hurt.
ANTHY: Miss Utena, counting makes your brain hurt.
UTENA: Well, maybe so, but still! Why do some of these lines sound familiar, anyway?

I sort of hesitated with responding to this because I thought that it was the final puzzle, but I'm going to take a crack at this.
Taking "lyrics" in mind, I decided to look up the songs connected to the phrases. I got:
1. Edge of Seventeen ( Stevie Nicks )
2. Thirty-Three ( The Smashing Pumpkins )
3. Four Strong Winds ( Neil Young )
4. Three Hits ( Indigo Girls )
5. Seventy-Six Trombones ( from The Music Man )
6. Shawty is a Ten ( The Dream )
7. Fifty Ways to Leave your Lover ( Paul Simon )
8. Fifteen ( Taylor Swift )
9. Nine in the Afternoon ( Panic! At the Disco )
10. The Glorious Epic of Three Men Who are Awesome ( The Axis of Awesome )
11. The Two of Us ( The Beatles )
There's a definite pattern here, namely the numbers. So if you count the number featured in the song title, I figured, you would get a letter.

or...
Wallace Shawn.
Hopefully this is close to the answer.

Damn, got it in one. You left out Maroon 5's "One More Night" on your list, but WALLACE SHAWN is indeed the answer! Congrats!!
