I'd have to agree with satyr, even as the wall votes pile up. Look at the witch and princess calendar. (In fact, is that an apple being passed?)

Either way, I'm loving following along; thanks so much for this Dallbun.

Ah, yes. Maybe it was obvious, but I should have made it clear that that number in the upper-right corner during the scene-setting screenshots is what day it is. As people have commented, that might make the calendar take on more importance, since it's the 22nd and the 25th is circled.

Just to be clear, the wall in question that something's drawn on can't be seen from the screenshot, and it isn't the wall we were looking at before with the name... things.

Also, "name tags" was probably a terrible translation for what those things were, because I don't think they're worn with the purpose of name tags... but suffice it to say that they have each club member's name written on them.

The regularly-scheduled voices in D-ko's head may now resume.

One of the pleasures of playing this game is that it's fully voice-acted. I can't convey that through posts, so please, do yourself a favor and imagine your favorite voice actors delivering the lines as you read them. As for D-ko's voice... well, she's an earnest female protagonist. You know the type.

Anyway, we look at the wall. Terrible haphazard translations a go-go!

D-ko:

If it's graffiti, it's pretty audacious.

And this figure looks like Utena.

Oddly, our character doesn't seem to have had any trouble determining Miki's sex, and he's way more androgynous than either Utena or Chigusa.  Something is off here.  What is it...?

Oh, right.

Employ humor to deflect the possibility of an H-scene with Miki

I vote for making a joke. I doubt that complementing his eyes will set us down Miki's route so early in the game, but considering how rare shoujo-ai visual novels are, I'd rather not risk it.

I can't read Japanese very well, but I'm fluent in reading symbolism.

Each student council member represents one of her fingers, but there's no arrow pointing to her thumb, nor a line connected to Utena. This could mean that while the student council is in the palm of her hand, Utena is not. Or maybe she is counting off the people she's defeated, and only Utena is left. The gap in between Utena and the other student council members is either there because of the distance between the thumb and other fingers, or there is a gap to show the missing duelists. It seems to be organized by the skill of the duelist. Her sword is pointing at the sword of Dios, so she's likely fighting for the power of Dios.


Anthy wears the same headpiece as the witch on the calender, so she's the witch. The girl seems to be wearing a bow and the princes attire, but judging by the background color, it's probably D-ko. I can't tell if the girl is offering the apple to the which, or if the girl is accepting the apple. But we can be certain that the apple is bad. Or maybe it represents a rose crest or the power to revolutionize the world?

Just because it's always fun to relate numbers with episode numbers:

Everything I just said is pointless, since we already know Anthy's a witch, and we don't know if the chart with Chigusa is necessarily a bad thing or not.

Err... you guys realize that making a joke is less likely by far to make Miki uncomfortable? And the option three thing was just a joke itself. Just making this all clear.

Also, thanks for the visual analysis, Razara! Hope you keep it up, though I doubt we'll be seeing many segments that are as visually interesting as that last one.
