This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Just wanted to start a thread to find out what the general gaming tastes of the forum are. So, I'll start. Lately, I'm jumping back and forth lately between Final Fantasy III and Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations. I had just played Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. Fun game, but it's a bit short. Haven't had a chance to enjoy the multiplayer yet, but I don't know anyone else who owns the game.

We've actually already got a thread for that. It's simply called "games, yay!"

I'm playing like 5 things at once. I'm right near the end of Jak and Daxter. I just can't get past this stupid spinny contraption that leads me to the final sage.
I'm also right near the end of Final Fantasy X. I think I must have missed a hellova lot of goodies along the way because I don't have nearly the necessary lvl 4 key spheres to unlock all the most awesome abilities.
I'm also partway through Okage, which is confusing and challenging.
And near the beginning of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Mishi, you're incredible with the games.

Well, I'm not doing them all at once. I haven't picked up Ocarina for at least a month, and I overdosed on Jak and Daxter for a while. With RPGs, I often get blocked before the final hurtle, so pretty much, I've been listing all my unfinished games.

Still, incredibly awesome. I think I love you. A video game champ like you is hard to find...even if the games are unfinished.

In the circles I frequent, it's actually depressingly easy. Many of my friends and acquaintances are actually much more dedicated gamers than I am.

Well then I must downright suck. Ah well, still a champ to me.

I am unspeakably proud that the makers of Assassin's Creed are Montrealers.

Uh. Do you want the games I am actively playing right now, or all of the games I have in progress?
Those are two very different lists.

The gameplay and visuals are incredible, but the content is lacking. Hopefully that'll be fixed in the sequel, as they already have the engine ready.

The environments definitely blew me away first time I saw them. And on an HDTV!! THE CLOUDS CAST SHADOWS ON THE LANDSCAPE AND MOVE.

I'm still playing FF1 for PSP. I'm at the endgame, but I don't feel like beating Chaos. I still have to go through Lifespring Grotto, Whisperwind Cove and the Labyrinth of Time.
God, I'm gonna hate the Labyrinth. No save feature? I'm so fucked.

Pokemon Ruby on my VBA.
I don't know what it is. I loved Red, Blue, and Yellow. Gold and Silver are my favorites, but Ruby and Sapphire just didn't stick for me. Something about them felt shoddy like the quality was lower and everything about it just failed to catch my attention. Like I said I loved Gold and Silver. Thy're my favorites and I want to get Diamond or Pearl, but the GBA generation just never felt right to me.

It might be the all the tedious berry mixing or the coordinator contests that put you off.

Ruby and Sapphire are the only ones I've never completed. I even finished Diamond/Pearl, but I stopped in my Ruby version half way through. I should probably finish it one of these days, but I agree with Tamago about the berry picking and beauty contests. Not to mention that Ruby/Sapphire marked the point when all the Poke'mon started to become unoriginal.
On the other hand, the fire starter Poke'mon was my favorite starter of them all, ignoring the horrible pre-puberty phase that all the starters go through before reaching their final evolved form. The clubhouses were pretty neat, too.

I like the Pokemon game "Gale of Darkness" but I wish they would have made it less story and more like the others. It was fun to actually get to run around in towns and stuff with better graphics and catch pokemon that way.
I'm kind of replaying a bunch of games, including FF7 and Chrono Trigger (but Chrono Trigger is evil and I just wanted to play for the story so I used cheats and now I keep getting stuck and having to start over a different way thinking it'll work this time.. but it doesn't!!) aand I've rediscovered my obsession for Secret of Mana!

Breath of Fire (on GBA this time), Super Smash Bros. Melee (late, I know), World of Warcrack and I'm planning to start Tales of Symphonia as well.

I'm so jealous! Where did you find the cartridge?
I'm playing pokemon right now...lots of pokemon. My friend and I have been obsessing over it for the past four days or so. I'm on Pearl right now, and I'll probably restart my sapphire version soon. Anyone have wifi on their Pearl or Diamond? I would love to battle or trade with someone here through that!
