This is a commission art I paid to get "Rushita" drawn.  I ended up with my otaku senshi...... I guess after she saw some other drawings of "Rushita" which included some of "Rushita" in senshi form.

OH, I had a crapload of Otaku Senshi. There was Sailor Phoenix, an actual Sailor Chaos, Sailor Darkstar, Sailor Nemesis, and then I created the 12 Zodiac Senshi. The only ones I ever made pictures of were Phoenix, Chaos, and Nemesis. I'll post pics later.

Then there was the crossover fic that will never see the light of day where Anthy becomes Sailor Earth(and started dating Sailor Pluto), and Utena is the real Sailor Chibi-Moon(only not so chibi).

Ha, I had a Sailor Nemesis. Fortunately, although I was a rather prolific Black Moon fic writer, I didn't quite get to that part of the story.,..even after the hundred thousand odd words or whatever it was my friend and I got to.

I wonder if the reason behind a lot of otaku senshi being recolorings is because of the vast availability of the coloring book pages.
im not trying to diss the recolored otaku senshi, but its hard to call it your own when you didn't come up with the character design yourself.

i love the colors, and i actually prefer the one you drew of her yourself, it looks like her outfit would be killer!

I have a senshi, too. Okay, one senshi and nine knights. I did base the knight's fuku/uniform on some of the uniforms in Utena, which makes me glee immensely.

The senshi I've had FOREVER. It was original when I made her (a sun senshi, which is why she has the same uniform as Sailormoon and the rest), but now she's not. (I swear, everyone took my ideas when they saw I didn't have time to update my site!!!). Her name's Misae, she's half Native American half French (which in Canada is an actual race), she plays hockey, and she's a bitch. Total complete utter bitch.

The only difference in her looks right now is that her hair's shorter and less curly. When I first drew her, she had a mullet. I kid you not.

There's a lot of reasons why there's so many re-colors. Depends on the person. Hell, you could consider Misae a recolor, because her hair's like Sailorneptune's, but shorter and red. But there's also a lot of REALLY good artists in the Sailormoon community that use those blanks as a starting point.

I remember once I drew one for my little sister. I think she was Sailor Black Hole or something.  I can't remember what she looks like :\ I think she was black and blue.

But I think she was a bad guy.

I actually don't think so, but it's entirely possible.  Maybe it's that I never waded too far into the SM fan community, but I never saw a lot of otaku senshi made from the coloring book pics. Of course, the original site where I got them from has been gone for years.

Point taken. In my case, Sailor Nemesis was never really intended to be an actual senshi. She only dresses like Sailor Moon because she thinks it will make Diamond pay her more attention/love her more because of his obsession with her. (Why, yes, she's kinda psycho.... that Single White Female kind of psycho.)

But as for the pic I actually drew. I made that in the last 3 years, after all the recolors. I drew her on regular, lined notebook paper and Photoshopped all the lines out of it. That's her "I'm an evil sorceress" ensemble. I dunno what the shoes look like or what kind of skirt she's wearing(if any), but rest assured....it's special.

Ha ha, I've had my "Sailor Sun" for over 10! ^_-  Sorry, just being silly.  I know you were being facetious about ideas being taken and all, but even 10 years ago there were already lots and lots of Sailor Sun-related characters floating around.  I remember several very in-depth Sailor Solar/Sailor Solaris/Sailor Sun sites back in 1997 when I first started looking for them.  *sniffle* I was so sad to see that the Sailor Sun idea had already been run into the ground, although not nearly so much as Sailor Earth.  So I always kept my Sailor Sun in my head...and currently only a certain fragment of her gets out in the RP/fic Paradox and I write together.  We break every rule of fandom: Princesses, siblings of lead characters, extreme cross-overs...it's so fun!

It's fun to think about how long a character has been running through your head, and at least in my case, just how much they've evolved in that time.  I've gone from the most stereotypical of the Otaku Senshi to something that might still be a stereotype, but revels in the fact rather than is blind to it.

In the end, I still have more fun playing with the real Senshi though.  In our RP I play Mars, Pluto, Venus, Jupiter (yay!), and Neptune, whereas Paradox plays Moon, Mercury, Uranus, Saturn, and in certain occasions Pluto as well.  He's also Mamoru/Endymion, I think.
