This is a static copy of In the Rose Garden, which existed as the center of the western Utena fandom for years. Enjoy. :)
Awww, c'mon!!! Chu?

So I'm fiddling around with Utena voices on my new laptop's shitty recorder. After discovering my Mikage impersonation sounds like an ent, things quickly devolve into madness. Included: Akio, Touga, Kozue, Wakaba, Wakaba the dominatrix on crack, and old lady's rendition of "Someday My Prince Will Come", a montage of evil laughter interrupted by coughing (I have a cold), and Mikage the ent. Nothing particularly witty. Just a lot of random crappiness.

Are you the long lost sister of Eminem or just high on crack? *thwaps* You killed my eardrums. SRLSY. But I love you still. And MOAR of your HAWT Kozue voice and my soul is yours. On a different note, please get well soon, pumpkin. *hugs*

Take that, bitch!
Yes. It's quite a contradiction. My speaking voice is quite soft, but I can project to an insane degree. I warn the hearing-sensitive to definitely not listen to that. Hell, you probably shouldn't listen to it in the first place.
On a more serious note, glad you like Kozue. It still pales in comparison to your voice, though. Seriously. You have an exceedingly beautiful singing and speaking voice. There's just one thing I recommend.
DEEPER. GO...DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPER.

You flatter me, dear. If I was there I'd fix you a nice bowl of ramen and demand you to get more rest--instead of screaming your lungs out. -_-
And how deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeper exactly--and where? *Touga™ smirk*

NECRO'D FOR ASKING FOR HELP!!!
Okay, so a genius on my voice acting forum has decided the first nine numbered Final Fantasy games. I want in on at least one character from each game, so I want your opinions on who you think I should go for. I genuinely can't decide! Bolds are ones I hope to get, you know, in a perfect world
Final Fantasy VII voices
~Tifa Lockhart: she's looking for "female low-medium"
~Scarlet(ShinRa exec.)- no voice type
~Elena(Turk)- no voice type
~Jessie(Avalanche member)-no voice type
Final Fantasy VIII voices
-Rinoa Heartilly: Medium-high range
-Quistis Trepe: Mature, kind of older-then-her-age sounding but a little playful.
-Edea Kramer:Emotionless and cold, a kind of low-medium.When she becomes herself again, then change it to a motherly, mature medium.
-Ultimecia:Heavily accented, but cold and cruel like possessed-Edea.
-Fujin(Seifer's Posse): no voice type
Final Fantasy IX
*Vivi Orunitia:High... but try to keep it from being too feminine, alright? A little androgeny with Vivi is okay, though.
*Freya Crescent: Medium-low with a kind of saddened, mature edge to it.
*Kuja:Ethereal with a trailing tone to it... almost enticing in a way? Mediumish...
SIDE NOTE: I would really, really love to play Kuja. In fact, I've already auditioned as Kuja in someone's Dissia:Final Fantasy dub. I want the
most critique for his voice, considering how badly I want to play him. If I got to play him, and no one else I would be overjoyed. (For
reference: Line 1,Line 2 and Line 3)
*Beatrix (A knight of alexandria): No voice type
*Zorn & Thorn (Creepy twin underlings): No voice type.
HALP.

Can't say much on how good or bad it was for that particular character, seeing as how I've never played the game, but I do love your voice in general.

All the links people have provided here are either broken or expired.

that would be because it's rather an old thread, though i'd like for it to come back to life...
i'd love to lend my voice, if i knew how. /laughs

I'd have to reacquire my recording software, and hope my headset stops fritzing.

Here's me singing Nanami's egg song and doing my impression of Mrs. Ohtori and Kozue's English voice. I can't sing as high as Nanami, though.

SUPREME NECRO
Okay, I am asking for assistance from my lovely vIRGins once again, because I seemed to loose a bit of my voice acting edge. After fighting with a severe shake of self-esteem, coming to terms with the passing of someone who always encouraged my voice acting and just not wanting to disappoint them or more specifically not dedicating a shitty performance to them. I am looking to get to practicing.
What I need from you guys are moments. An emotional moment from sku (or honestly anything as long as you give me a reference) that you think would be challenging for a actor to pull off. A specific episode for reference would be excellent, as would links to the source material. I'll post back her and yall can totally critique it.
EDIT: Also, Black Rose Kanae - what do you think?

Suggestion: Any part of Wakaba's duel.
That sound clip of Kanae is fantastic. She really sounds venomous there; I think you nailed it, hon.

And contemptuous! It's not what I imagined, but I think it's appropriate!
My suggestion: Anthy on the rooftop, immediately post-suicide-attempt. (This would be part of the long flashback in episode 38.) Or, Miki speaking to his sister.

Update! Volume warning, although I have to say I did edit it down a bit to keep from peaking.
"You and that girl and the student council too!" for Yasha. Critique please!

Oops, sorry, I been busy!
You've definitely got some good conveyance of emotion here, but a couple things you might want to watch out for-- it sounds like your breathing gets a bit hung up around 'special gifts you were born with', so watch where you're taking breaths. That's a hard piece to manage as far as breathing control goes, though. Second, the division between 'trample the rest of us' and the rest of the piece is a little too distinct; you need to build up to it more instead of taking the sudden jump, as the suddenness is startling but not in the way you want to achieve.
That said, the rage and desperation in this give me goosebumps. Originally I'd just picked Wakaba's duel because it had some serious emoting in it, but the more I listen to it, the harder and more complex I realize it is. Kudos to you, Anji dear! Though I mentioned issues, on the whole, this is an excellent reading.
